NTC forces fight for Sirte

Rockets on the outskirts of Sirte fire and strike targets in the Libyan city - as anti-Gaddafi forces close in on fighters loyal to Muammar Gaddafi.
The Libyan government forces say they have one of Gaddafi's sons cornered in the center of Sirte - one of the last loyalist strongholds and Gaddafi's hometown.
But, a determined resistance is keeping them at bay.
After weeks of fighting, National Transitional Council forces have taken most of Sirte - driving loyalist forces into two northern neighborhoods close to the Mediterranean Sea.
Capturing Sirte will consolidate the NTC's control of Libya, but international concern is growing about civilians caught up in the violence.
As fighting raged on the streets - families emerged from their houses - trying to leave.
NTC officials have said Gaddafi is not in Sirte - and is believed to be far in the south in the Sahara desert.
