The battle of Sirte

Libyan government fighters deployed on Wednesday on the rooftops of Sirte buildings to cover an expected advance in what local commanders hope will be a final push to take control of the city from Gaddafi loyalists.
The government forces have been fighting their way, street by street, into the center of Muammar Gaddafi's birthplace, after their commanders said the battle for the city was entering its final hours.
