This is Acapulco - a popular tourist destination in Mexico, famous for once being the playground of Hollywood stars.
But the beach resort city is increasingly developing a different reputation.
Violent drug gangs operating in Acapulco have made the city one of Mexico's most dangerous.
The violence has surged again in recent weeks - on Tuesday authorities found five severed heads in front of a primary school here.
The heads were found in a sack on the side of the road next to threatening messages.
The previous day, five headless bodies were found in a sport utility vehicle, but the corpses were too badly burnt to confirm if the heads found belonged to the bodies.
Despite high profile arrests, Mexico continues to struggle with drug violence.
Last week, 35 bodies were found dumped on a road in the port city of Veracruz.
Since President Felipe Calderon went to war on cartels at the end of 2006 42,000 people have died in drug-related killings.
