Giorgio Armani and Roberto Cavalli at Milan week.

A double bill at Milan fashion week on Monday as top designers Giorgio Armani and Roberto Cavalli showcased their very different collections for the upcoming spring/summer season.
Armani used all tones of mother-of-pearl for his iridescent woman.
Models wore thin trousers with a light cut at the front beneath longer dresses and skirts, evolving a theme seen last season.
Jackets had no buttons but only a concealed tiny hook instead.
Dresses came in longer lengths, from knee to ankle.
For the evening, Armani see-through dresses were embroidered with minute translucent drops of water.
Sartorial craftsmanship was also the signature of Cavalli, who draws inspiration from past avant-guards.
The Florentine designer mixed Bauhaus-inspired outerwear with Baroque lavishness in dresses.
Low or no waist dresses created a refined elegance and were paired with black sartorial jackets.
Lace dresses had precious embroidery along the sides.
Gold dominated this catwalk.
The designer's slim-fitting jackets had padded shoulders, while skirts in animal or floral prints ended with silk plisses -- a trend seen through Milan fashion week which ends this Tuesday.
