Kenya Nobel laureate Maathai dies

Kenyan Nobel Peace Prize winner and environmentalist Wangari Maathai has died in hospital, her organisation the Green Belt Movement said.
She was undergoing treatment for cancer.
Maathai rose to international fame for campaigns against government-backed forest clearances in Kenya.
Winner of the 2004 Nobel Prize, she was the founder of Kenya's Green Belt Movement and a civil and women rights activist.
