This is the submarine Colombian police say was destined to smuggle up to seven tonnes of cocaine at a time.
It was seized during an operation in a rural area of Buenaventura, about 400 kilometres west of Bogota.
Police believe it was about to be used for the first time on a drugs delivery mission.
Authorities say the sub could travel at speeds up to 35 kilometres an hour and is fitted with a highly sophisticated navigation system.
The vessel, valued at 1.8 million dollars, could carry a crew of up to five.
Colombia's anti-narcotics police say the submarine belongs to an alliance of FARC rebels and drug trafficking organisations in the south.
