Dominique Strauss-Kahn took to the airwaves to apologize to France for a sexual encounter with a hotel maid in New York, that he said was a "moral error" he would regret all his life. Strauss-Kahn gave his first interview to TF1 where he was asked what happened. SOUNDBITE: Dominique Strauss-Kahn, saying: (French): "What happened? What happened did not include violence, force, aggression, nor any unlawful act. It is the prosecutor who says this, not me. What happened was not only an inappropriate relationship but, more than that, an error." The attempted rape charges were dropped late in August after doubts arose over the hotel maid's credibility. SOUNDBITE: Dominique Strauss-Kahn, saying: (French): "Was it weakness? I think it was more than weakness, I think it is a moral error and I'm not proud of it and I regret it immensely, I have regretted every day during those four months and I don't think Im about to finish regretting it." . Strauss-Kahn's lawyers had said from the start that the brusque encounter in his luxury suite was sexual but consensual and non-violent. SOUNDBITE: Dominique Strauss-Kahn, saying: (French): "You should read the prosecutor's report and you should read it closely. The prosecutor's report does not accuse me at all as far as injuries are concerned." Strauss-Kahn said it was possible he had been set up.
