A vintage plane crashed in a fireball at an air show in Martinsburg, West Virginia on Saturday (September 17).
There was no official word on casualties but the Journal of Martinsburg reports that the pilot was killed in the crash.
The Journal reported that the aircraft lost control during a six-plane stunt formation and then crashed on the runway. The aircraft was flying as part of the T-28 Warbird Aerobatic Formation Demonstration Team, which performs at air shows around the country.
The aircraft was registered to John Mangan, of Concord, N.C. according to a Federal Aviation Administration Registry.
This crash comes on the heels of a crash of another World War Two-era fighter plane in Nevada. The death toll in that crash has risen to nine, authorities said Saturday.
