Sammy Smith's Stompers - Blues In My Heart

This appears to be a rarely recorded band, occasionally also recording under the pseudonym 'King Carter & His Royal Orchestra', although, surprisingly, King Carter didn't perform with them, just as there is no Sammy Smith among the personnel! Personnel included Wardell Jones, Shelton Hemphill and Ed Anderson, t; Harry White, Henry Hicks, tb; Charlie Holmes, cl-as; Theodore and Castor McCord, ts; Edgar Hayes, p; Benny James, bj; Hayes Alvis, sb as well as Willie Lynch, d. This wonderful recording was made in 1931. The vocal is credited to Dick Rogers, a pseudonym of Dick Robertson.
