"Doctor Who" Theme by Geoff Love on "Star Wars" (Vinyl) LP, 1978

In 1978, cashing in on the recent success of the movie "Star Wars", EMI released a vinyl LP entitled "Star Wars and Other Space Themes". Sporting imaginative cover-artwork, this budget LP, with music performed by Geoff Love and His Orchestra, was an entertaining and affordable alternative to the official "Star Wars" soundtrack album. Love's take on Ron Grainer's classic Dr Who theme fits funkily in the late 70's, while other tracks, such as Holst's "Mars Bringer of War", are impressively faithful to the original 'classical' scores.
