They started out over 30 years ago as a niche party. But today they're a force to be reckoned with in German politics, currently more popular than ever and in some states attracting support from up to 25 percent of voters. The issues that form the cornerstone of the Greens' agenda are now mainstream, and the party looks set to challenge the dominance of Germany's two big parties.
