Ed Royal discovered his love for dejaying in the early eighties in Italy, soon after which he was standing behind his first pair of 1210's. His intention was to bring listeners closer to rare groove and funk. This required great skill in the difficult art of mixing and accordingly Ed soon acquired the necessary expertise. After his first gigs in Broglu, Sappalott and Boing he became Resident DJ in the popular Jimmy's Bar in Innsbruck. Even today he still graces the Jimmy's crowd with his tunes every Thursday, now also crossing his funk with nu-funk, break-beat, drum and bass and various other styles. A true "freestyler". As well as standing behind the turntables Ed Royal wanted to produce music and thus opened his own studio in 1999. In 2003 he founded his own label "Innvision Records" and already the label's second release was a true sensation: "Born to funk" was sold out within one month and was subsequently licensed by Ursula 1000 for the Eighteenth Street Lounge Recordings compilation "Ursadelica". Many tracks, highly recommended by critics, followed and so did numerous gigs in and outside of Austria. He produced remixes for the All Good Funk Alliance, Kid Loco, Soulphonic Soundsystem, Mawglee, Michael DeVellis, K'Bonus, Badboe, Parov Stelar, Timewarp Inc., Cadillac Jones. The label "Innvision Records" is now a household name amongst the funk and break-beat scene and is there amongst the top elite with artists such as Malente, Fort Knox Five, the All Good Funk Alliance and others...
