Research program about the "Bottom of the Pyramid" approach

http://www.essec.edu | Cap Gemini and ESSEC Business School put together a research program about the "Bottom of the Pyramid" approach. This research program is based on the fact that 3 billion individuals live with $2.5 a day. This represents a whole new market for open-minded companies, local innovations and global opportunities. The social impacts are on numerous levels: education, health, basic goods. A panel of 25 students and 20 consultants have teamed up to study 5 innovative companies in India and China during 3 month. Among the 5 companies, there was Planet Finance which promotes renewable energies through microfinance and the Naandi Foundation which eradicates poverty through education.
