Ralph Fiennes is the latest Hollywood star to be linked to the new James Bond movie, with rumours he will play a darkly complex character.

He joins a growing number of A-listers who are reported to be on MGM's wish list for the 23rd instalment, which is being code-named Bond 23.

Javier Bardem is a hot favourite to play 007's nemesis and is reportedly stalling over an offer for the lead role in Stephen King's The Dark Tower as he considers Bond. However, it is believed the deal is pretty much done.

Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench are confirmed to return, while Craig's rumoured girlfriend, Rachel Weisz, is being tipped to be a Bond girl.

The movie will be released on November 9, 2012 on the 50th anniversary of the franchise.
