HC declines to alter order shutting down Tirupur dyeing units

The Madras High Court has declined to alter its order directing closure of all dyeing and bleaching units in the hosiery town of Tirupur for causing pollution despite its earlier directives. The dyeing units were found to be violating environment norms by discharging effluents into the Noyyal river flowing thru the city.
