The construction organization of Northern Railway consists of two units, The Udhampur -- Srinagar -- Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project unit and another unit for all other projects of Northern Railway. Each unit is headed by a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO/C).
Built in 1803 on the " Tykhana" of the seventeeth Century the Palace of Ali Mardan Khan, Shahjahan's Senior General and one of the most important " Omrahs" in the Mughal Empire. The building was the residence of the Deputy Resident of Delhi when British first came to Delhi in 1803. Sir William Fraser is said to have stayed in this building.
Victorian and Indo saracenic style, because of alteration done after the damage in 1857. Three tunnels originated form " Tykhana".
In view of its upkeep in the background of its historical importance the " Second Prize" of DDA Urban Heritage Award, 1997, under adaptive reuse category was given on 13.07.1998 by Lt. Governor of Delhi.
