Conference-Workshop Disadvantaged Neighbourhoods (Part1)

The URBACT Annual Conference took place in Liege in Belgium Tuesday 30 November and Wednesday 1 December. The event brought together URBACT partners and urban actors coming from all over Europe. The workshop "Integrated approaches to managing and regenerating disadvantaged neighbourhoods" took place on Wednesday 1 December morning. This workshop explored the dimensions of integration in the management and regeneration of disadvantaged neighbourhoods and contrast the approaches to integration developed around capital investment projects in regeneration areas with the need for ongoing integration or joining up of service delivery in neighbourhoods. It explored differences between vertical and horizontal integration and differing governance needs.
