Wine enthusiasts around France celebrate the latest round of Beaujolais Nouveau wine, released every year on the third Thursday of November. Cheers!

Another year, another release of Beaujolais Nouveau.

The popular French wine is released annually on the third Thursday of November -- a practice mandated by French law.

At midnight on Thursday, wine lovers around Paris celebrated.

Beaujolais Nouveau is a light, fruity wine associated with a festive spirit.

Despite unfavorable wine-growing conditions this year, those in the business say this vintage has exceeded expectations.

One expert waxed lyrical on the wine's appeal.

[Phillipe Rochet, French Sommelier]
"It's the Beaujolais spirit, it's true that it's associated with partying. It's why tonight there are people and there will be many more for days to come. It's a wine to revive and to revitalize the pleasure that we have of sharing a glass of wine with friends."

Every year, the grapes that make Beaujolais Nouveau are hand picked from vineyards in southwestern France.

And after the French get their hands on the wine, millions of bottles are exported around the world.
