Madrid maintain Mourinho's unbeaten run

Pedro Leon spoke of his delight after his last-gasp equaliser helped Real Madrid progress through to the last 16 of the Champions League following an enthralling encounter with AC Milan.

The summer signing from Getafe climbed off the bench late on to net his first goal for Madrid in the 94th minute, earning the Spanish giants a 2-2 draw and preserving coach Jose Mourinho's unbeaten record in the Bernabeu hotseat.

Madrid had taken a deserved lead on the stroke of half-time thanks to Gonzalo Higuain but Milan hit back after the break to take a 2-1 lead through two Filippo Inzaghi goals in 10 minutes.

That looked set to consign Mourinho to his first Madrid defeat on his return to the San Siro, where he enjoyed tremendous success with previous club Inter Milan, but Leon drilled a low shot through home goalkeeper Christian Abbiati's legs to salvage a point.

"My goal is an enormous joy because it's given us the point which means we've qualified. We are very happy," Leon said.

Regarding his side's performance, Jose Mourinho said: "We have qualified and we are almost sure of first place in the group. The players have given everything and if I'm not going away completely happy, neither am I sad with what happened."
