Storms batter Haiti's homeless

A ten-minute storm has killed 11 people after downing trees and power lines in the Haitian capital of Port-on-Prince.

Outside the presidential palace, where thousands still live in tent cities, the storm flooded tents.

Chirsroy Joseph, who heads an organization to feed poor children, said the living situation of many of the earthquake victims is unacceptable.

He said: "We are living at a time when people are living at a high, high capacity of life and in Haiti, those people are living like dogs".

On January 12, 2010, Haiti was struck by a 7.0-magnitude earthquake which killed over 300,000 people and left over a million homeless.

Despite billions of promised international aid, permanent help has been slow to trickle down to those who were most devastated.
