NTPC looking to acquire coal mines overseas

Indias largest power producer, NTPC, is facing a challenge in meeting its coal requirements because of fuel shortage. As far as coal is concerned, NTPC is looking at the option of importing coal on its own. The company is also exploring buying coal mines in other countries.
