US chase suspect drives head-on into police

A police officer in the US is recovering after his car was hit head-on by another car that was being driven by a murder suspect, according to police.

Infrared video was released of the chase in Fort Worth, Texas, which showed the fugitive's car being driven in the wrong direction on a highway on Saturday.

The car was initially driving in one direction on the highway, it then turned around and in the footage it's seen driving in the wrong direction.

The vehicle then drove head on into the officer that had initially been chasing the suspect.

The officer is recovering at home, while the suspect is reportedly facing kidnapping and murder charges, police said. No other details were available.
