Brown will continue fighting until the last second

Gordon Brown has vowed to fight until "the last second" for a Labour General Election victory following last night's victorious win by David Cameron.

Addressing supporters in the West Midlands, Gordon Brown said: "The time for debates is finished, the time for decision has begun."

He added: "We will continue to fight for the future of this country until the very last second of this election campaign."

Labour are trailing in the overall opinion polls, letting their 13-year grip on power slip.

After Mr Brown's poor performance on the final leaders' debate, Nick Clegg spoke optimistically saying: "This election campaign is now down to a simple choice - a two-horse race between the Conservative Party and the Liberal Democrats."

Meanwhile David Cameron cautioned his supporters that the election was still "far from won" and urged them to keep up the fight until polling day.

Focusing on the next week, the Conservative leader said: "I am going to be doing everything I can in these next six days to say to people if you want real change, if you want to wake up on Friday May 7 with a different government, with a new prime minister...then please vote Conservative."
