Ben Selvin & His Orchestra - Don't Ever Leave Me

This song was posted before in an instrumental version recorded for Harmony (see my video http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xccgen_perley-stevens-orchestra-don-t-ever_music), here is a vocal one with Smith Ballew interpreting the chorus, recorded the same day in 1929 for Columbia. Originally a violinist, Ben Selvin probably made more records than any other bandleader from the late 1910's through the 1930's. After his recording career he remained active in record business as artistic director till the 1960's. As for vocalist and bandleader Ballew, he was very busy in the late 20's and 30's before starting a movie acting career.
