Simulation of an absorbant sound barrier: The wall, represented in transparency mode, is 5m high x 10m long with a relative impedance Zr=0.1 on both sides. The noise source is modeled by a point source (the yellow point) with a Gaussian volume velocity (standard deviation = 0.3ms). This video shows the evolution of the pressure on 2 orthogonal planes. One can distinguish the relection by the ground and the wall and the diffraction by the top and lateral edges. This simulation has been done with Time Domain BEM solver SONATE© in LMS Virtual.Lab® (http://imacs.polytechnique.fr/SONATE.htm).
