00:05I am extremely grateful to the government of France and the president of France and all the consulate, general and
00:16the others involved, ambassador and all the other people representing France for choosing me for this honor.
00:25And these are the recognitions which make people like us to work even harder to make this world a better
00:33place to live.
00:35I am extremely grateful to them to serve them during the COVID-19 crisis.
00:40The French citizens who are living in Bangalore, we had the privilege of taking care of them and I guess
00:46that's one of the reasons why they chose me for this honor.
00:49Global recognition for Indian entrepreneurs, Indian specialists, Indian doctors is very important because these are the soft power our country
01:00is building to get the global recognition.
01:03We believe that India will have a huge role in global delivery of healthcare because most of the small countries
01:11are growing old and they are not producing adequate number of children.
01:15So when people grow old, they need someone to take care of them and India as a country which produces
01:23over 25 million babies a year is ideally suited to train doctors, nurses and technicians with the idea that eventually
01:32the global healthcare majority of it will be delivered by Indian doctors, Indian nurses, Indian medical techs and the support
01:40staff.
01:40May not be only in India, even in their own country because this is inevitable and our country and our
01:47policies of the government are rightly poised to build a huge workforce which will be the pillar of delivering healthcare.
01:56Global healthcare. Global healthcare is in crisis. Every country is struggling to pay for healthcare. Cost of healthcare has to
02:04go down.
02:05Now how can it go down if they don't produce that many doctors, nurses, technicians and our government proactively took
02:14very very drastic dramatic decisions.
02:17It took us 60 years to add 55,000 medical seats and our government in the last 10 years added
02:2675,000 additional medical seats.
02:29No country in the world has ever dreamt of doing it. And today we produce the largest number of doctors
02:37in the world, largest number of nurses in the world. This is our strength.
02:41So I believe that India will become the first country in the world to dissociate healthcare from wealth. India will
02:49prove to the world that the wealth of the nation or wealth of the family has nothing to do with
02:54the quality of healthcare its citizens will enjoy.
02:57And that's going to happen within the next five to seven years.
