00:21There are three things that can and probably will happen, simultaneously.
00:25President Trump has already signaled two of these.
00:29one is he wants to do deals he wants to cooperate he said last night that he's already reached out
00:35and congratulated the new democratic leadership in the senate and the house and all three are
00:44from new york that's kind of interesting and there's a theory that these guys will sit down
00:49and they're all guys and they'll sit down and make deals and what an interesting trio they are
00:54chuck schumer donald trump and hakeem jeffries
01:05but second is almost certainly the case is they're going to fight with one another
01:12democrats across capitol hill have indicated their intention to do oversight and investigation
01:20and that's coming and um we know that the president can be very defensive
01:27um uh and prone to react when he and or his team are called out on one thing or another
01:32and i think
01:32that's also likely to happen and we're likely to see um fights along the way
01:41now envision chandeliers all over you see envision marble floor oh it's going to be this will be
01:47the most beautiful bone
01:52to everyday americans who want us to bring about dramatic change and make their lives more affordable
02:00we hear you we see you we feel you and we're committed to making life better for you
02:09does he want to have a legacy that would move in the direction of legislation does he want to have
02:13a legacy that he does things by executive action he's already done a couple
02:17important things without any congressional consultation the invasions of venezuela and iran
02:25and presidents in their last two years like to do foreign policy because they don't have to work with with
02:29congress
02:30presidents tend to lose congress by their last two years in office and they tend to go it alone in
02:35foreign affairs
02:36but if he wants to pass it on to a republican successor um maybe that means dialing that back
02:43and being more collaborative
02:54the war in iran not to mention the other foreign policy engagements ukraine will be very important
02:59relations with israel but will be very important uh the future of latin america and venezuela in particular will be
03:05very
03:05important i'm not sure we're going to be hearing as much about greenland
03:08but i do think we're going to be hearing about all of those places either from president trump or
03:12from the new democratic congress and and beyond
03:17um quickly the war in iran is hard
03:19to end but jd vance has already said that we have to end it
03:23does ending the war in iran mean winning the war in iran
03:27doubling down president bush after a very bad midterm in 2006
03:32doubled down with the surge in iraq
03:35ended up being quite successful in many ways embraced by the obama administration after
03:41that could be an option for the trump administration
03:44war in ukraine very similar but different right president trump has not wanted to be supportive
03:48but here democrats will urge him to get more involved
03:52on behalf of the ukrainians to get elon musk out of the business of
03:56cutting off starlink to the ukrainian government so i would pay attention to all of those issues
04:06there was such rampant corruption there has to be some investigations but we're not going to take
04:11our eye off the ball number one reducing costs ending corruption okay so one of the big affordability
04:19issues is health care and the trump administration with the one big beautiful bill
04:26um cut support to states for medicare and medicaid democrats made that a campaign issue in a number of places
04:35particularly at the state level it'll be interesting to see if republicans are willing to negotiate there
04:41that's been a third rail within republican party politics supporting the affordable care act
04:48and other dimensions of of health care um president trump may decide that he wants to do a deal there
05:07it will be interesting to see in a democratic senate controlled by the numbers that they control it
05:17whether in one or two cases if the facts are really bad
05:22um say a secretary of war
05:24is brought up on
05:27um
05:28war crime impeachment charges even after he is no longer the secretary of war
05:35um
05:35would republican senators who want to distance themselves from the trump administration
05:41which has proven very very unpopular might they vote against um might they vote in favor of convicting
05:52such a cabinet official
