00:00I think the biggest challenge across world today is, as you rightly said, the purpose of the fighter aircraft is
00:06changing.
00:07The earlier fighter aircraft was an isolated entity to fight the war.
00:11Today, in the world of connectivity and networking, I think it is not alone a fighter aircraft who decides the
00:17future of the warfare.
00:18It is the connectivity of multiple fighters, drones, man-on-man teaming, and various other systems around connected together decides
00:27the course of warfare.
00:28That is the challenge globally, and India is absolutely prepared for it.
00:31Now, answering to the second point, that as the generations going ahead, the fifth generations and the sixth generations are
00:37coming, the biggest challenge is going to be the invisibility.
00:39We become the stealth aircraft, so you cannot be detected by the radar.
00:43I think physics has the solutions, that is what we have read it across, and we are working towards it.
00:48And within the domain of the spectrum, we have our solutions, that how to beat the stealth, so that we
00:54can track the aircraft based on whatever stealth characteristics you have.
00:58We design the radar accordingly, that some beam will reflect back in some frequency.
01:03And if we can have the radar of that adequate frequency with adequate gain, we will be able to capture
01:07and reconstruct the aircraft, and I can give enough information to our ODA loop to really neutralize for it.
01:13India is prepared for it, and we are ready to face the challenges.
01:16I think artificial intelligence over the decades have played its role, but I must tell you, artificial intelligence has its
01:24role more predominant now, thanks to chat, JPD, and all those kind of softwares, that it has really reached household,
01:30that without that, there is no survival.
01:32Warfield is no exception.
01:34Today, artificial intelligence is going to decide the future course of the warfare.
01:37As I said, in a war of connectivity domain, all the data sets, see, today it has become sensor-specific.
01:43Today, the sensors have become in hundreds and thousands and millions to be spread across the warfield to detect.
01:49But detection alone does not work.
01:51And if you want to pump all the data, you imagine the millions of the images have to be pumped
01:55through the network, and no network is ready to take that.
01:58That's the reason the edge computing has come up, so that all processing happens at the sensor end, and the
02:04process data with the least bandwidth is pumped to the central node.
02:07Yeah, change has happened because electronics has evolved, computer powers have evolved.
02:13So because of that, the older generation radars, which used to have processing, which are at slower speed, now speed
02:20has become available for us.
02:22And now, with the computer, which was available only for the post-processing, now right to the front end of
02:28the radar, that is the antenna, up to there, the electronics has gone.
02:32So with that, higher speed processing and more decision-making at a faster pace, we are able to do much
02:38better jobs, classify the targets, identify the targets, and even recognize what object is coming so that we can engage
02:45against them.
02:46So that is the power that has transformed the way radar was working earlier.
02:50We have radars today to see objects which are buried below the ground, that is unexplored mines and objects, which
02:58are kept below the ground.
02:59We have radars to see them.
03:00We have radars to see personal hiding behind walls, so that in case of anti-terrorist operations, we can see
03:08who is hiding behind, how many people are inside that.
03:11And even if a person is stationary behind the wall, we can even see the heartbeats of the wall, so
03:17that we know how many people are inside, so that our counter forces can go and engage them.
03:22So that is the radars we have for such low-intensity conflicts.
03:26We have radars which can see below the ground to see tunnels.
03:30If somebody has dug the tunnels below the borders, we can see that also.
03:34We have radars to see crawling men and men which are moving.
03:39We have radars to see through foliage, like we have internal warfare, when we need to see, identify people who
03:47are hiding below foliage.
03:48From the air, we can penetrate through the foliage and see them.
03:52We can see radars.
03:54We have radars which can see below the horizon, which is what we call as over-the-horizon radars, so
03:59that radar normally sees over the horizon.
04:02But below the horizon, in case of, because of the Earth's curvature, we can see objects which are on the
04:07sea surface, below the horizon.
04:10We can see aircraft, we can see ballistic missiles, and we also have the capabilities to see up to satellites.
