00:08and will be the first Muslim and first Egyptian American representing New Jersey in Congress.
00:13I'm a surgeon and I can tell you that we are going to stop the bleed.
00:18We are going to fight for every American that's been left behind by the establishment
00:24that has been ruling Washington for so long.
00:29Now I have to speak plainly.
00:32I have served this country and I have worn its uniform.
00:36I have served it in war and I have served it in peace.
00:39And I have never seen anti-Muslim hate as open and as loud and as accepted as it is today.
00:50Adam Hamaoui is a U.S. Army veteran and surgeon.
00:53He volunteered in Gaza back in 2024 and 2025.
00:56He is a pro-Palestine politician and ran his campaign on abolishing ICE,
01:00tackling wealth inequality, divesting in the military and investing in healthcare.
01:05On 9-11-2001, Hamaoui treated victims on ground zero.
01:08I was a fourth year resident on 9-11.
01:11I was a first responder after the first building collapsed.
01:14Over the last 30 years, Hamaoui volunteered as a doctor in disaster and war zones, including Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine,
01:22Turkey, and Jordan, just to name a few.
01:24His campaign received endorsements from Democratic progressive figures like Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
01:32Come January, Hamaoui will take his fight for the working class and against the military-industrial complex to D.C.
01:38and the halls of Congress.
01:43So tonight, in this moment of victory, I will do what my faith teaches me to do, and to give
01:50praise and glory to God, and to ask him to keep me humble.
