00:00It's actually quite free to get around to, give it to one question for the publication.
00:03Raise your hand if you've got a question.
00:05We'll start with Dan.
00:07After you guys, after Cavi especially.
00:10Cavi, can you just go to words about what the season has been like?
00:14Do you have a personal level with the players as well so far?
00:18I mean, of course, it's been a tough season.
00:20We've not had the results we've wanted.
00:23But, you know, we need to look forward now.
00:25There's big, big games ahead.
00:26And I feel like we're one win away from changing that.
00:30So...
00:31Michael, you saw a train this morning.
00:33What's the situation with the unavailable players and Patrick being back as a boost?
00:38I'm guessing he's going to be too soon for him to feature tomorrow?
00:42Yeah, it was his first day with the group perhaps.
00:44Great to have him back.
00:45He's worked ever so hard to be back with the group.
00:49But, yeah, he won't be involved tomorrow.
00:51We'll see how he progresses through the week really.
00:55But, yeah, great to have him back.
00:57And just also, obviously, this is...
00:59A lot has happened since the last Champions League home game.
01:02A lot to digest.
01:03But what gives you confidence that tomorrow can be that win that you've been striving for?
01:09I know the players.
01:10I know what we're capable of as a team, individually and as a group.
01:14I think we've showed it in spells, we've showed it in bursts,
01:17we showed it a little bit the other day.
01:19Should have been up in the game and in a really good position going into the second half.
01:24And then, obviously, as I've already said, the game got away from us.
01:27But knowing what we're capable of when we put it together,
01:32and I've said it before, you know, that's always very close.
01:37We've got to act on it now.
01:38We've got to make a difference and we've got to make a difference quite quickly.
01:40But as Cobby's already said, we've got two great games this week,
01:45taking one at a time for sure.
01:46But it's another great opportunity for us to go and attack the game,
01:51look forward to the game and make it a good night for us.
01:54Cobby, when you committed your future to this club,
01:57you're obviously one of the best young players in the country.
02:01I'm guessing that you weren't expecting Manchester United to be where they are at the moment.
02:06How frustrating is it for a young player that you're at a club like this
02:10and it finds itself in the kind of turmoil it is?
02:17You know, I've been at this club for a long time
02:19and I know there's always going to be ups and downs.
02:21You know, it's never going to be plain sailing and smooth to the top.
02:24So, you expect bumps and the best thing about them is you're able to bounce back from them.
02:31Sorry.
02:31Hi, Michael.
02:32This is for Cassandro at the weekend.
02:34Have you had a chance to review his ending off yet?
02:37And have you got any concerns about his headspace at the moment
02:40or his commitment to the club?
02:42Obviously, things are going to leave in the summer.
02:44There's been a few incidents this year and a loss of form.
02:46Are you kind of concerned that maybe his heart isn't really in getting the club out of this predicament
02:50or are you happy with what you're saying?
02:52No, I've got no concerns about commitment at all.
02:56Things happen in football.
02:58Sometimes you do things.
02:59Sometimes you make a decision.
03:00Sometimes you make mistakes.
03:01Sometimes it goes well for you.
03:03But the commitment is not an issue for sure.
03:07Chris?
03:09There will be people who will look at the job you've done in its entirety
03:13and hope that you'll be judged on that and you'll be here for a good while.
03:16Yeah, there will be other people who will look at the international break coming up,
03:20two games to go, and fear for your future beyond that international break.
03:24Do you feel like a coach who only has two games left?
03:27No, not at all.
03:29Listen, I can look into the future and you never know what's going to happen.
03:33I don't know what's going to happen.
03:36That doesn't change the way I feel.
03:38That's not how we're preparing for the game tomorrow.
03:40I'm actually really looking forward to the game.
03:41Can't wait for the game tomorrow.
03:45You might think I'm crazy with the results we've had and what's going on,
03:48but I genuinely really can't wait for the game tomorrow.
03:51That's all I'm focused on.
03:52Really, I am.
03:54Whatever happens is going to happen after that,
03:57in whatever direction it goes in,
03:59but we want to make it a big night tomorrow night first.
04:02Samuel and then Rob.
04:03Hi, Michael.
04:04Just on Lissandra again and also Bruno,
04:06their contract situations,
04:07they're into the last year of their contract,
04:09there's a plus one option.
04:10Obviously you've got to make a decision in the coming months,
04:13otherwise they can have a pre-contract agreement in January.
04:15Have decisions been made on whether to extend their stays at all,
04:18or is that a decision that's going to be taken shortly?
04:22When anything's finalised, you know,
04:23I'll have discussions going.
04:25When anything's finalised, we'll let you know,
04:28but at this stage there's nothing any further to update, really.
04:31Rob?
04:33A copy if that's all right.
04:34During this run when it's not been going particularly well,
04:36the manager has been quite protective of the players,
04:39at least in public.
04:40When you're in the dressing room,
04:41are the players kind of quite appreciative of that,
04:43taking a lot of responsibility on himself,
04:45rather than sticking it on the players in the dressing room?
04:47Yeah, of course, you know,
04:49and I feel like our way to repair that is to also be behind the manager,
04:54on the pitch and off it,
04:56and fight for us and fight for us as a team.
05:00James and then Ian.
05:02Corey, just following on from that,
05:04you've always had a great reception from the fans,
05:06singing your song again at Chelsea on Saturday,
05:09but in the last, obviously, game at Old Trafford,
05:12the Stretford end really, really turned on the players
05:14after the final whistle of the game.
05:16Have you as players sort of talked about that moment
05:20and what you as a group sort of need to do,
05:23not just to get the team winning again,
05:25but to try and get the fan base, you know, back on side?
05:29Because the atmosphere at times this season at Old Trafford
05:31particularly has not been good at all.
05:34You know, in these tough times you can't expect the fans 100,000% of the time
05:39to be happy and cheering when we're not putting out results,
05:43you know, and we owe it to them to put the results out there for them,
05:46to cheer again.
05:48Ian?
05:49Hi, Michael.
05:50There's obviously, from the outside,
05:52there have obviously been a couple of high-profile players
05:54doing high-profile interviews.
05:56There was the red card at the weekend.
05:58Do you understand why there might be a perception outside the club
06:02that the dressing room maybe lacks discipline
06:04or isn't together and totally behind you,
06:06and are you happy with the state of the dressing room in those terms?
06:09The dressing room is a good place,
06:11so perception is a funny thing.
06:16You can make things look all sorts of different ways
06:18and think about all sorts of different things.
06:21I've said it before, the commitment of the players to the club,
06:25to me, to each other, I don't question that at all.
06:29We need to play better, we can make better decisions,
06:31but a commitment is not a thing at all.
06:39Michael, you know what the successful Manchester United look like from the inside?
06:43What is the one thing missing now?
06:46There's never one thing, it's a number of things.
06:51Of course, performances and level of performances goes a long way to achieving that
06:56and then on the back of that result, you know.
06:59It's never one thing, it's always a number of things.
07:03Sometimes it can be small things, it can be a little bit bigger,
07:06but we know we need to get better at certain things.
07:09As I said, I think the other day against Chelsea,
07:12we've done a lot of really good things to give us a chance to not come away,
07:18especially the first half without any goals for us.
07:20It was quite incredible, really.
07:25We've got to find a way out of this kind of moment, really.
07:28We've done a lot of good things to help us do that.
07:30We just couldn't quite capitalise on it, but we will do.
07:33So, we've got to keep doing the right things.
07:36Will?
07:37Hi, Michael.
07:38Obviously, winning 12 and 17 must really help you enjoy your job.
07:41You say you're looking forward to the game tomorrow.
07:43How do you find the enjoyment in your work at the moment?
07:46Are you able to change your mindset?
07:49Change my mindset from what?
07:50Well, it's more difficult.
07:52When it's 12 and 17,
07:54you probably turn about half seven in the morning for training, very happy.
07:56At the moment, it might be a bit more difficult.
07:58Do you have to adjust yourself?
08:02No, it's what I am, it's what I live for.
08:05A lot of people could do my job when you're winning a lot of football games.
08:09It's about finding the solutions, finding the answers,
08:12staying strong, leading right and getting the best out of the players.
08:15We've got to keep pushing for that, but it doesn't change my mindset at all.
08:19I love being here.
08:20I love working with the players and the struggles and the challenges.
08:25That just drives you on to want it even more.
08:28Larry?
08:28I have a question for Cobb here for May.
08:30When Michael came in, your form, I think, picked up.
08:33You were back in the team.
08:34Can you just talk a little bit about what he's done for you?
08:36It might be a bit tricky with him being right next to you,
08:38but what he's done for you as a head coach,
08:40what kind of style does he employ?
08:43Also, in the current predicament that you're in,
08:45have you had strong conversations with your teammates about the results
08:49that have been going on and how you can turn that around?
08:53I'm very grateful to the boss for putting the trust in me as soon as he came in
08:58and putting that belief in me and giving me all the advice that he has,
09:01knowing he's a player who's been at this club and knows the history of this club
09:04and knows what it takes to win.
09:06You know, I take those words to heart and I try and ply them every day
09:10in training and games.
09:13Richard?
09:14Yeah, hi Michael.
09:16On the subject of Roma, I guess it's one that has happy memories for you
09:20when you go back to the 7-1 and all that time ago.
09:24I was just wondering what you recall from that game
09:27and was that sort of an illustration of how things can get worse on such occasions?
09:32It's a long time ago, eh?
09:35Yeah, it was a magical night, I have to say.
09:37It was one of the best nights, one of the best games, one of the best atmospheres
09:43I've been fortunate enough to witness.
09:47The fact that I scored a couple and that was very unusual gives me great memories,
09:52but it was more the actual whole, the emotion of the night really,
09:55I have to say that it was a special one.
09:59I'll take a couple more from here.
10:02Bobby, can I just ask you a bit more about your development over the last time?
10:05I wanted to speak up on Laurie's point.
10:07How do you feel like you've grown as a player since Michael and the staff have come in?
10:13I've tried to take on more responsibility in the team.
10:16You know, I want to impose myself more in games
10:18and they've definitely helped me to do that,
10:19giving me more responsibility with taking the ball.
10:24There's been ups and downs, but I have to continue to try and, again,
10:30have belief in myself and, like I say, impose myself on games even in these tough times.
10:36I know you've spoken about ups and downs, not just this season,
10:39but when you also did that, again, Laurie touched on it,
10:42when you weren't playing a lot of football,
10:44do you find those experiences can help you going forward?
10:49Because you've had them so young in your career.
10:53Yeah, definitely.
10:54I mean, I feel like in every period of my career so far,
10:56I've tried to take positives from them, even, you know,
10:58the times I'm not playing, I've learned things
11:01and I'm still applying them to this day.
11:04Michael, just looking back at the Champions League,
11:06I know it's a different set-up now.
11:08How do you look at the state of play with United?
11:10Obviously, two difficult defeats on the road,
11:12a win at home, a long way to go,
11:14but it does feel like there's a sense of,
11:15oh, that's a tough picture, that's a tough picture coming after that.
11:18You need the win.
11:19It's kind of how it feels.
11:21Yeah, of course, we're looking for the win.
11:23There is the bigger picture
11:24and it is about getting through to the later stages
11:27and one or two games you can kind of get away with really
11:31and then you kind of make amends for that at these times.
11:36And it's the games, yeah, of course, tomorrow and the games coming up
11:39that is going to dictate that for us.
11:41So, we're certainly still in it with a great chance of progressing
11:45and it's got to be the focus from now.
11:48Can I ask as well, I kind of asked a minute earlier,
11:50just to go all about Rashford and Shaw's availability for the coming games
11:54and also just to clear up your own strapping,
11:56as you've seen it quite a lot on the right knee, what's the situation?
12:00Yeah, Lenny just had a bit of a tendon really,
12:03so it's one of them that kind of comes and goes,
12:07but he's been managing it and he's been fine.
12:09I think he's been fantastic, to be honest.
12:10He's been one of our best players
12:11and he has been since he came back first day pre-season.
12:14He's impressed us all a lot.
12:15So, I've been delighted with Lenny and his performances
12:18and, you know, keep doing the right thing.
12:23He's on a really good pathway.
12:25Marcus and Luke definitely won't be around this week
12:31and fit at that point.
12:32Marcus will just have to see, day by day, how he keeps improving.
12:38A couple of weeks ago, Michael spoke very eloquently
12:43about what Manchester United means and the values of Manchester United.
12:46You, as someone who's been here for so long, understand that.
12:50Do you think all your teammates understand that?
12:54Because sometimes it appears as though they don't always adhere to the standards required of a Manchester United player.
13:01You know, I think, you know, United's a huge club.
13:04So, I think a lot of people know the values that this club holds
13:07and that have been passed down through the people who have worked here and who have played here.
13:13I feel like I take some responsibility in that and in spreading the word
13:17what is Manchester United coming up through the academy.
13:19And I plan to send that message for hopefully as long as I can.
13:26Thanks, everyone.
13:27Bye, guys.
