00:05how do you battle religious extremism that's the question discussed at a symposium hosted
00:10from august 16th through the 20th by u.s. army central's chaplain's office with special guests
00:15from the jordanian military for the jordanian guests led by major general yaya bashir albatush
00:21who is better known by his religious title of grand mufti the answer of fighting dash is simple
00:26and it doesn't use weapons of violence but rather the weapon of education the basic element of how to
00:35confront religious violence of religious extremists is that they are wrong first of all i would like to
00:41concentrate on how we increase the capability of our imams and jaf in jordan this visit increases
00:47the cooperation and increases how far our imams can deal with this religious issue with u.s. arson
00:54organizing this and many other religious symposiums with allied militaries the end goal is to win the
01:00battle of words against religious extremists and while the military battle against daish will continue
01:05it will be religious leaders like the grand mufti and second lieutenant akram mustaba frehat the first
01:11jordanian graduate from the u.s. army's chaplain basic officer leader course who will lead the war
01:16of words now and in the future because we've discovered so many times as foreign officers have
01:23the ability to rub shoulders right here in the united states in our own military education system
01:28it benefits us and ideally they take something away from it too and those young leaders grow up to be
01:35senior leaders in their respective military and that relationship is so absolutely key and like the
01:42relationship between militaries the relationships imams build with their flocks will be key because their
01:48words will be a weapon in the fight against daish for u.s. army central i'm sergeant
