00:13Oh
00:35I do not like to rush things, so sometimes it takes a moment for us to gather all the facts
00:40before we speak.
00:41I think it's important that we take our time to do those things so we can get factual information out
00:46as best as possible to the public.
00:48That being said, I want to start by saying our thoughts and our prayers are with the family of those
00:53who are affected.
00:54As he stated, we have one that's deceased, one that's critical, and seven other individuals who are being treated with
01:04non-life-threatening injuries.
01:06The fact of the matter is this was two senseless acts of violence, completely senseless acts of violence.
01:15This is something that we not only just see here in Birmingham, but we see it all over the nation.
01:20And it's important that we as a community address this issue.
01:23I'm very grateful that more people weren't injured.
01:29I'm very grateful that with all the spectators and families and things of that nature, this did occur after the
01:34game.
01:35For the most part, it was off of the property.
01:39But, of course, it was still in the area, in the vicinity, where a lot of the vendors were, where
01:47it occurred on Greymont Avenue.
01:49So we're just very thankful that more individuals were not injured.
01:53So we're just very thankful that there were many people who are not injured.
01:58So we're just grateful that for the people who are not injured, it's very brief.
02:07We're just grateful that there was a lot of people that were intentionally suspicious.
