More on Steve Jobs at link: https://percheronsport.substack.com/p/steve-jobs-and-sports

“Steve Jobs, while not predominantly recognized for his connection to the sports industry, had a significant and lasting influence on it. He dabbled in some sports during his earlier years, such as swimming competitively as a child,...He also briefly tried golf in the 1990s...Jobs led a healthy lifestyle, being an avid runner and dietarian.
...

Jobs’ legacy continues to resonate within sports, with tributes to him appearing at significant events like Super Bowl 50, showcasing the remarkable ways he changed society and the sports landscape...

Steve Jobs “...walked. The Apple co-founder made walking a daily ritual, turning it into a creative and problem-solving tool. His preference for walking meetings, quiet strolls with colleagues, and even solitary barefoot walks around Cupertino is now more than folklore.
...
He consistently wore a simple outfit: a black turtleneck, Levi’s 501 jeans, and New Balance sneakers. This was not a random selection; it was a deliberate uniform he adopted to avoid distractions and maintain focus on his work. Jobs owned hundreds of black turtlenecks, which became a symbol of his identity and Apple’s brand. This look was inspired by his visit to Japan..."

00:04Truth be told, I never graduated from college.
00:10I dropped out of Reed College after the first six months.
00:14Because I had dropped out and didn't have to take the normal classes,
00:18I decided to take a calligraphy class to learn how to do this.
00:21It was beautiful, historical, artistically subtle in a way that science can't capture.
00:28None of this had even a hope of any practical application in my life.
00:33But ten years later, when we were designing the first Macintosh computer,
00:37it all came back to me.
00:39And we designed it all into the Mac.
00:42You've got to find what you love.
00:44And that is as true for work as it is for your lovers.
00:48Your work is going to fill a large part of your life.
00:50And the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.
00:54Because almost everything, all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure,
01:02these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.
01:07Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.
01:13Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people's thinking.
01:18Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice.
01:22And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
01:26They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
01:31The only way to do great work is to love what you do.
01:34If you haven't found it yet, keep looking and don't settle.
01:39As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.
01:44People say you have to have a lot of passion for what you're doing.
01:48And it's totally true.
01:49And the reason is because it's so hard that if you don't, any rational person would give up.
01:57It's really hard.
01:58And you have to do it over a sustained period of time.
02:01So if you don't love it, if you're not having fun doing it and you don't really love it,
02:05you're going to give up.
02:06So keep looking.
02:08Don't settle.
03:01And fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife.
03:04Don't settle for her.
03:07Don't settle for her.
03:23Don't settle for her.
03:25You
