00:00I was going to ask about that because the Ballon d'Or, to be fair, I have never cared two
00:04hoots about it for the last 20 years.
00:06I don't care about it. It's an individual award, it's been something, but it's actually got, it seems to have
00:10got more bigger and prominent and more.
00:12And I always thought that, and I've said this before, Ronaldo was the first person that I ever heard, our
00:18Ronaldo, the United Ronaldo,
00:20he was the first person that I ever heard speak about wanting to win personal honours in the Ballon d
00:25'Or.
00:25I remember him saying, I want to be the Ballon d'Or winner, and I thought, that is just so
00:29against the sort of grain of what we'd heard at United.
00:32Everything's collective, if you win the PFA play, it's because of my teammates.
00:35And at the time, no one was at a problem with it, but I get it now a little bit
00:39in terms of the prominence that it's given Ronaldo, Messi.
00:42It's become a massive award.
00:43But that's fine if they say, Gary, as long as they're still putting the team first.
00:45Yeah, yeah.
00:46Of course, that'll be the back on doing stuff with your team.
00:48And he was delivered.
00:48They're not going to win it unless your team are competing to win big trophies.
00:51Even Bayern last year, obviously, they came close to the Champions League.
00:54Domestic League, like they always do, amazing with England.
00:57So you do have to put your team first, and then you will get them rewards.
01:00Yeah.
01:00But not the other way around, lads.
01:01You still get players going, I want on with this, what about the team?
01:05No, no, you've got it the wrong way around.
01:06Yeah.
01:06We've seen it last year with United.
01:08We see players getting bogged on by individual awards.
01:11Yeah.
01:11It's too much.
01:11But a very popular winner.
01:13Yeah, yeah, he was.
01:14Rightly so.
