00:00Mbappe just lost some Chinese endorsements.
00:02The reason was actually a meme.
00:14After this video went viral online
00:16This quickly caused a huge uproar in China.
00:18Many Chinese brands urgently cut ties
00:21TTTV also broadcasts matches related to Mbappe.
00:24What exactly crossed the line?
00:32Real Madrid's French star Kylian Mbappé
00:35During an interview at the Golden Globe Awards yesterday
00:37When asked which meme on the internet is the funniest
00:41The answer was that the picture that showed his appearance.
00:43Memes draped over Chinese dictators
00:47He did not directly name Mao Zedong.
00:48But he is called a dictator
00:51I believe that's the point.
00:52This has sparked a strong backlash from Chinese netizens.
00:54This also allowed many Chinese brands
00:56For example, Dongpeng Beverage Group
00:58Urine Kolando
00:59Hydrating pull
00:59Sponsors of companies like Mighty Bull announced the termination of their partnerships.
01:02CCTV also announced this.
01:04Starting Monday night
01:05All broadcasts of La Liga matches involving Mbappe have been suspended.
01:09All advertisements featuring Mbappe have been removed.
01:13In fact, Mbappe was portrayed by netizens as a dictator.
01:16It has been going on for quite some time now.
01:18Mbappe could take a trip back to his African homeland in 2023.
01:22Because they were protected by special forces.
01:24Exaggerated pomp and circumstance such as armored vehicles leading the way
01:27He was jokingly referred to as the former dictator of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Momber.
01:31Tuo
01:32There are also claims that Mbappe will be available in 2024.
01:34Because of dissatisfaction with the owner of a barbecue restaurant
01:37Suing the other party for naming a sandwich after him
01:40The incident was later ridiculed by the shop owner as that of a dictator.
01:44As this statement later gained traction online...
01:47Netizens started superimposing Mbappe's face onto historical figures.
01:51They even created an AI video of him dressed in military uniform, seemingly in control of everything.
01:59Perhaps with these precedents
02:01Mbappe's every move on the field was also magnified.
02:04His persona on the court, frequently directing his teammates and issuing orders.
02:08Describing someone as a dictator
02:10Of course, this is just a joke circulating in the football world.
02:14It's his personality on the field, not his political stance.
02:17He himself gave a media interview in September
02:19Responding to similar trends
02:22This indicates that although the humorous element is understood...
02:25But I'm more concerned about the parody elements in it.
02:27It might not be funny.
02:29It downplayed serious historical issues.
02:31A character profile and memes that have been circulating in the football community for a long time
02:35But because of a single sentence during a public interview
02:37It escalated into a massive public relations disaster that was difficult to manage.
