00:00Would you let a humanoid robot into your home to do the cleaning?
00:03In San Francisco that now costs around 26 euros an hour.
00:08American startup Tom Robotics has developed a humanoid cleaner
00:12designed to tackle the same everyday chores a person would.
00:15It's a humanoid, so it can do basically everything a human can do.
00:19It can vacuum clean, it can mop the floor,
00:23it can wipe kitchen counters, it can dust off some shelves.
00:30Tom Robotics launched a service about a month ago.
00:34More than 50 homes have already been cleaned
00:36and there is now a waiting list for people wanting to try it.
00:41It's exciting.
00:42The fact that it stumbles a little bit almost makes it endearing.
00:46It's a little bit like watching a child.
00:47And I think that's kind of how it's entering society.
00:50It's not about expecting it to be completely perfect,
00:53but the fact that it can climb back up after it falls
00:56or pick something up that it drops.
00:57It's like the error correction that kind of makes it like seamless
01:01and kind of like in my home.
01:03But the robot isn't working alone yet.
01:06A human operator controls it remotely,
01:08seeing the home through its cameras as it carries out each task.
01:14Tau Robotics says its robot still cannot match the speed or ability of a human cleaner,
01:20but for some customers, taking a little longer is worth it
01:23if the robot handles the jobs they would rather avoid.
01:27Like, I don't want to clean the toilet.
01:29Like, I'm willing to wait a little bit more and read a book or do some work.
01:33So I'm very excited. It's like a glimpse of the future.
01:35For now, that glimpse of the future comes in one-hour slots.
01:39Tau Robotics says it hopes to offer longer cleaning sessions as the service develops.
01:44And cleaning is only the beginning of its ambitions.
01:47The company eventually wants its humanoid robots to help with some repairs and maintenance and even elderly care.
01:54Both of these things are good to do and take a little bit more comfortable with some scare.
01:55I'll come back into office inclu workflow.
01:55Now,Hz, that means we'll use the battery of右 coles.
01:55But that means we've got two foot baskets to prepare.
01:56Start with one of the daylight to make full of the energy.
01:56Time to exercise even more and prove a ball of ultra cal motors in addition.
01:56And get herely.
