00:00Top 5 Chest Freezers for Apartment Meal Prep Video Script
00:04Apartment meal prep? A chest freezer changes everything.
00:09But the freezer is only half the story, I dug up the best deals for top 5 chest
00:13freezers for apartment meal prep, and these are the pieces that make one actually work for you.
00:18Let's go! First up, and honestly the most important
00:22upgrade you can make to any chest freezer, a 7-meter roll of commercial-grade PVC magnetic
00:27door seal strip. When the original gasket goes flat and hard, your freezer runs twice as long,
00:33your power bill climbs, and frost creeps along the lid edge. This strip sits right in the doorframe,
00:39grabs magnetically, and gives you that tight, freezer-grade seal back. $83.58 sounds steep,
00:46but it's a repair part that could save you from replacing the whole unit and with a 4.7 rating,
00:51people clearly like it. Next, for metal chest freezer baskets with foldable handles.
00:57This is the one that saves you the most sanity. Imagine digging through a frozen solid bin for
01:03a bag of broccoli, now you slide a whole wire basket out, grab what you need, and collapse it
01:07flat so you can stack more on top. They're metal, so they handle the cold without getting brittle,
01:13and 4 of them for $50.16 is a solid price for a complete organizing setup.
01:18Third, this 4-pack of stackable wire freezer organizer bins, made specifically for 5.0-cubic foot
01:25chest freezers, which is exactly the size most people grab for a small apartment or a garage.
01:30Heavy-duty metal wire, black finish, they stack right on top of each other so you're using the
01:35vertical space instead of wasting it. A few reviews do say the wire is thinner than expected,
01:41so if you're loading heavy items, keep that in mind.
01:44Even so, $54.04 for 4 is reasonable.
01:48Now this next one's tiny in price but big in usefulness, a universal GB-type single-tube
01:54dry filter for electric refrigerators and ice chest freezers, and it's only $1.33.
02:00That little filter keeps moisture and condensation from turning into ice crystals and frost around
02:04the compressor area, which means less defrosting for you and a longer life for the machine.
02:09For $1.33, it's basically the best dollar you can spend on your setup.
02:15Asterisk quick note for you, every item in this list is a chest freezer accessory, seals,
02:20baskets, bins, a filter, rather than a standalone freezer unit, so I framed the video around
02:25the pieces that make a chest freezer work for meal prep. If you'd rather the title be literal,
02:30swap in actual freezer units and I'll rewrite it the same way, asterisk.
