00:00Well the knockout phase is upon us at this AFC Asian Cup and tonight the hosts will hope home
00:04advantage will help get them across the line against a China team that has been one of the
00:10big success stories of the tournament. For Australia the expectation is to win the whole
00:15thing. It all starts tonight in the knockout phase here in Brisbane.
00:29Zhang Chengdong, he'll continue the run forward and nobody's gone with him. Zhang Chengdong with
00:34a low delivery and hits behind. Australia have a goal kick. Ji Sheng with the opportunity.
00:46Franic throws it infield. Leckie chance here. Good save, Juan Gale. And Matthew Leckie's
00:53wait for a goal goes on. But Australia's best chance. Bresciato. Similar sort of delivery.
01:00Cale went for it. Couldn't reach it. Back in by Franic. And Cale goes to Spencegla. What
01:05about that? What about that? Oh, Timmy Cale. He is an absolute star. And in the really
01:17big games, you need your really big players. And that is a really big goal. And something
01:25very spectacular. Just brilliant.
01:29You just cue brilliance and opportunism at that point from Super Timmy Cale. Solid challenge
01:38for Chengdu. And here comes Cahill. Timmy Cale again. Australia surely had it for the semifinals
01:47of the Asian Cup. Matthew Leckie outstanding. He does the brunt work to win possession. And
01:53you just see in slow motion as that ball swings over from the left. That Tim Cale has imagined
02:00this a thousand times before. And has finished it almost as many times before. And it's as
02:07good as you ever see in world football. He is quite simply lethal.
02:17It's a good save by Matt Ryan. And the follow up by Wu Lei. Goes into the great flags of
02:25the
02:25Australian goalkeeper. That was the first real course for alarm though for the Socceroos.
02:37Blast on the whistle. And Australia are through to the last four. That's for China. The end
02:44of a hugely promising tournament. Australia though are heading to Newcastle. The first international
02:51in the Hunter in 20 years thanks to Tim Cale's grace. Full time in Brisbane. China nil Australia
02:58Australia too.
