00:00Ok, real talk, if you run Baofone UV5RS on group hikes, that stock mic is ruining your comms.
00:06Wind, sweat, radio clipped on your pack, it all fails at once.
00:10So I dug through thousands of listings and found the best UV5R microphones under 12 bucks.
00:165 picks, all cheap, all actually good.
00:20Let's go.
00:22First up, this 2-pin earpiece headset made for the UV5R and Kenwood radios.
00:27The headline feature is the anti-noise mic, it kills trail wind and background chatter so your group hears you,
00:32not the mountain.
00:34It's $6.41, nearly 5,000 sold, and a full 5-star rating.
00:39For hiking teams and even security-style use, that's the cheapest reliability you'll ever buy.
00:45Next, the dual PTT headset with mic.
00:49Two buttons, one for transmit, one for monitoring so you never fumble mid-sentence on a steep climb.
00:54It's $4 flat, the cheapest here, with 4.9 stars and over $4,500 sold.
01:01Fits the UV5R, UV82, and UV89.
01:05For bucks for hands-free-ish comms?
01:08That's an instant add to cart.
01:11Number 3, the shoulder speaker mic.
01:14Big speaker, clip it on your shoulder strap, and the radio stays in your pack while the mic sits at
01:19your collar.
01:20Way more comfortable on long hikes.
01:23$7.08, 4.9 stars, over $4,000 sold, and it works across the UV5R, UV82, 888S, S9+, even
01:32Quanching radios.
01:33Best comfort per dollar pick.
01:36Fourth, the handheld speaker mic for UV5R, BF888S, UV21 Pro, and Quanching K5-K6.
01:44Solid two-pin plug, chunky speaker grill, and a mic you can hold right at your mouth when the wind
01:49picks up.
01:51$7.28, over $4,000 sold, 4.5 stars.
01:55Slightly lower rating, but it's the tough-guy workhorse of the bunch, great spare mic for the group kit.
02:01Last, the UVK5 speaker mic wide compatibility, UV5R, UV82, 888S, UV21, UV17 GPS, UV13-16-18 S9, and Quanching K5
02:13and Fiverr Plus, so one mic covers basically every radio your group owns.
02:18831, 4.8 stars, $3,000 sold.
02:22If your crew runs mixed radios, this is the smartest by under $9.
