00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the Shark Tank pitches that didn't go the way
00:04the presenters planned.
00:06Wow, that went sideways fast.
00:08Number 10, Kate App.
00:09This entrepreneur pitched his app specifically for people who cheat on their partners.
00:14Tell me more.
00:15Well, Kate helps prevent fights like this simply by keeping your indiscretions discreet.
00:20Quite simply, Kate has a smartphone application, and with it, you select a blacklist of contacts.
00:25And if those contacts call or text you, Kate will intercept those calls and texts and store them within its
00:30interface.
00:30It automatically hides calls and texts from particular contacts, so other people won't see them.
00:35That's not too off the wall.
00:36After all, there are already dating sites that cater to people looking for an extramarital affair.
00:41The crazy part is that Neil Desai is so fixated on marketing the product as a cheater's app.
00:46See, you're saving people's lives.
00:47You're saving lives.
00:48That's what I think I'm doing.
00:49Yeah, I'm like a firefighter.
00:50As Barbara points out, the Kate App could be a useful privacy tool for lots of people.
00:54But Neil is so determined to sell it to people who are unfaithful that he turns her down and accepts
00:59a worse offer from Kevin and Damon.
01:01We got a deal.
01:02I love this guy.
01:06I'm sorry, Barbara.
01:07However, the deal never closed, and the app shut down soon after the episode aired.
01:11Number 9.
01:12Copy Keyboard
01:12Scotty Trujillo comes into the tank with a ton of energy.
01:16Sharks, my fingers were hurting.
01:18Do you know why?
01:19Why?
01:19Because after 12 hours of coughing and pasting into a spreadsheet, my hand was cramping into a lobster claw.
01:29Some might even say an unnerving amount of energy, especially considering what he's pitching.
01:33Although his keyboard with only two keys is cute, he seems to be out of his depth, and the sharks
01:37quickly tear into him.
01:38I love your honesty.
01:41I am having trouble putting my arms around this.
01:45I don't think that this is the right kind of business for me.
01:48Kevin points out that anyone with basic computer knowledge can reassign keyboard shortcuts, making the copy keyboard unnecessary.
01:54Meanwhile, Laurie schools Scotty on the fundamentals of ordering an inventory that it seems like he should already know.
02:00Scotty's last hope, Robert, just hates the product.
02:02Worst of all, in the exit interview, Scotty looks like he's about to cry.
02:06This is my dream since I was a kid.
02:07I think about it all the time.
02:09Every day, it's constantly business.
02:11Just to come here, I am a little bit sad because I didn't get a deal.
02:14Number 8.
02:15Carsick Bib
02:16Trigger warning for those with emetophobia.
02:18There are so many horrifying elements to this pitch.
02:21We're not sure which is the worst.
02:22The Carsick Bib is the smart, hands-free barf bag for kids.
02:26First, there's the creepy fake toddler strapped into its car seat with a funnel taped to its head and a
02:31shocked look on its face.
02:32Then-presenter Les Cookson pours homemade vomit into it, which comes spewing out and splashes all over the floor.
02:38Oh, God.
02:40Oh, no.
02:45You had to put the corn in it, didn't you, Les?
02:48It's so disgusting that Barbara has to look away at one point.
02:51Following this memorable demonstration, the Sharks point out that the product is a recipe for disaster.
02:56It has the potential to be both incredibly messy and dangerous.
02:59We just feel bad for whoever has to clean up this mess.
03:01I think it still has a lot of potential.
03:02I think it's something that there's a huge market for, and they didn't see it.
03:05That's fine.
03:06That's five people.
03:06You might want to look away from this product, but you'll never want to look away from WatchMojo's 24-7
03:11live stream.

03:16I'm sorry, I just keep looking at your face, Mr. Wonderful.
03:18Don't look at it.
03:19Do not look at it.
03:19You know what?
03:20It's hurt all of us for all these years.
03:22That's his normal face.
03:23Number 7.
03:24Minus Cal.
03:24This pitch starts with one man body slamming another, then carrying his kicking body out of the tank, which is
03:30certainly entertaining.
03:31And our ingredient, the co-leave, is the bouncer.
03:35When the fat shows up at the party without an invitation, co-leave escorts the fat out of the party
03:44and out of your system.
03:45That's just the beginning of the fighting.
03:47Presenter Crom Carmichael gets into an argument with Mark Cuban about the quality of the product.
03:51Then Robert Herjavec lays into Mark for not giving the presenters a chance.
03:55You don't give people a chance.
03:57I wish I knew what their business was if you would let people talk.
04:00Carmichael and Cuban get into it again as the entrepreneur insists he's not claiming Minus Cal will make people lose
04:06weight, despite his promotional poster saying, lose weight.
04:09At this point, Robert sides with Mark, who dramatically warns the viewing audience to stay away from this product.
04:13To everybody who's watching, don't buy it. I'm out.
04:18It must have worked because the company went out of business soon after.
04:21Number 6. Bird Dogs
04:22These guys failed to win over the sharks and most of the audience at home.
04:25I forgot my lines.
04:26It's like a sauna in here.
04:33My name's Peter.
04:34And I'm Chris.
04:35And we are Bird Dog Shorts.
04:36Chris Mason and Peter Baldwin seem like they're trying to come across as funny, cool millennials, but a lot of
04:40people just saw them as jerks.
04:42They also clearly didn't understand their target audience.
04:44The sharks are mostly boomers and Gen X, and they're obviously not amused by these presenters' antics.
04:48What do you sell one pair for?
04:50We sell Bird Dogs for more than it takes to make them.
04:54That's why you went to Harvard Business School, right?
04:56Destroying the shorts with a watermelon just to make a fruit choke?
04:59How does that help sell the product, exactly?
05:01When Mason and Baldwin get evasive in response to Mark's questions, he basically calls them liars, and it's all downhill
05:06from there.
05:07Look, if you were a true bird dog and you were willing to put all those beers in your pocket,
05:10you would say, I got this, right?
05:12And the money's in there because we're all in.
05:14That would be confident, but it might be foolish.
05:16Because if I overorder on your story...
05:18You wouldn't come up here any more arrogant or confident than you did.
05:20Number five, his and her bar.
05:22Some people could pull off a rap and synchronized dance as their shark tank pitch.
05:26Partner up with the sharks.
05:27That's a compliment.
05:28Wake up in the morning, do it all again.
05:30Woo!
05:30Jennifer and Michael Gallagher, not so much.
05:33They come across less like entrepreneurs and more like overly enthusiastic preschool teachers.
05:37But it doesn't stop there.
05:39Michael shares a weird story of getting fired from his job as a firefighter, then getting inspiration from a rock.
05:44I met a rock, and he talked to me.
05:46I said, babe.
05:47And she said, I gotta dump this guy.
05:49I know, right?
05:49It's kind of cheesy for a firefighter.
05:51As the sharks dip out one by one, he begins sobbing while disclosing that he has a brain aneurysm.
05:56Also being called crazy isn't the flex that Jennifer seems to think it is.
05:59They seem like nice people, but we're with the sharks here.
06:02They need to get real jobs.
06:03I'm not gonna invest, because you're not ready.
06:06In your lives, you're not ready yet.
06:08Product-wise, you're not ready yet.
06:09So, guys, I'm out.
06:11Good luck, guys.
06:12Number four, Squirrel Boss.
06:14If you ever wanted to see the sharks get electrocuted, this is your chance.
06:17Squirrel Boss is the world's first interactive squirrel-proof bird feeder.
06:21Michael DeSanti presents this electric bird feeder that's meant to deter squirrels from eating the bird seed
06:26by allowing users to shock them with a remote control.
06:29Needless to say, it's a controversial idea.
06:31DeSanti insists the shock is unpleasant but harmless, and most of the sharks volunteer to put his claim to the
06:36test.
06:40Come on, Kev.
06:42No, thank you.
06:43Only Kevin wimps out.
06:44Unsurprisingly, no one wants to invest in a product that comes with a side of animal cruelty.
06:48When they all decline, DeSanti refuses to leave.
06:51This prompts Kevin to threaten to shock him out of the tank with his own device.
06:54I really, really, really wanted one of the sharks as my partner.
06:58I like all of the sharks in their own way, even Kevin.
07:01Number three, Pavlok.
07:02If you were disappointed that Mr. Wonderful didn't get zapped during our last entry, you're in luck.
07:06Pavlok helps you become aware by alerting you when you do behaviors you'd like to reduce.
07:11Then simply press the button, and Pavlok releases a mild electric sensation that helps you reduce cravings.
07:18You can laugh, but it's actually something very serious.
07:20I am laughing.
07:20This product also delivers electric shocks, but it's meant to be used on people to break bad habits.
07:25Of course, the sharks have to try it out.
07:27Mark Cuban immediately starts hurling insults not only at the presenter, but also at his fellow sharks for just giving
07:32the guy a chance to speak.
07:33Mark, we know you're the smartest guy in the room.
07:35It's not about being the smartest guy in the room.
07:36You can't be that stupid, Robert, to even think there's any legitimacy.
07:40The other sharks drop out until only Kevin is left, and he makes entrepreneur Manish Sethi a pretty good offer.
07:44But Sethi doesn't want to work with O'Leary for some reason.
07:48Kevin curses at him and throws him out of the tank.
07:51Manish, you're an a**.
07:53Get the f**k out of here.
07:55Oh!
07:57Number two, PDX Pet Design.
07:59Tara and Jason O'Mara claim to have created the next big thing in feline wellness.
08:03Imagine instead, you could walk into a pet shop and there'd be an entire aisle dedicated to the wellness of
08:08your cat.
08:09With products that enhance your kitty's lifestyle and really help you improve your relationship with your cat.
08:13So far, their company offers two products, a cat toy that retails for $120 and a licky brush.
08:19When the creators demonstrate the licky brush, the sharks can't believe what they're seeing.
08:22They lose their minds over this absurd product.
08:24Oh!
08:25Oh!
08:27Oh!
08:29Kevin!
08:30Kevin, demonstrate how it's done!
08:32Oh my goodness!
08:33Only Robert is actually willing to try it out, much to the other sharks' delight.
08:37Throughout this chaos, they can hardly stop laughing long enough to take the pitch seriously.
08:41There's probably a niche market out there for the licky brush.
08:44Tell us in the comments if you'd try it.
08:45That was crazy!
08:46Why do I do Shark Tank?
08:48Because you never know when someone's gonna lick a cat.
08:52Before we continue, be sure to check out WatchMojo's 24-hour livestream.
08:56All of your favorite videos in one place, 24-7.
08:59Always on, always live.
09:01Are you not entertained?
09:03Number one, Haven.
09:05Mark Cuban called this the best pitch ever, and not because the product blew him away.
09:08When activated, the wedge-based barrier lifts up.
09:12Using simple physics, this makes your entire door 10 times stronger to preventing home break-ins.
09:18When Clay Banks and Alex Bertelli present their home security system,
09:22they want to prove that old-school locks aren't enough to keep your house safe.
09:25To do that, Alex decides to kick down a prop door latched with a deadbolt.
09:28It does not go as planned.
09:30After numerous attempts, he gives up and returns to the pitch out of breath.
09:33Alex, you've just gone down in Shark Tank history.
09:36You will be memorialized forever.
09:39This is the connected version, Mark.
09:40You okay?
09:41Hell yeah.
09:42Amazingly, the failed demonstration doesn't seem to hurt their chances too much,
09:45and the Sharks actually like their door lock system.
09:47They don't get a deal, but as Cuban points out, they will go down in Shark Tank history.
09:51We're gonna continue on.
09:52The team follows the motto that I lived in the Army, we're never gonna quit.
09:56Which of these chaotic pitches cracked you up?
09:58Let us know in the comments below.
09:59We'll see you next time.
