00:00Swivel Chairs vs Director Chairs, which is better?
00:03So you know that classic director's chair everyone's got in the garage,
00:07the flat wooden one that makes you feel like you're on a film set even when you're just
00:10watching the game? Good design. But there's another category out there that does the same
00:16job with a lot less attitude, and after spending a whole season hauling chairs around lakes and
00:21trails, I've narrowed it down to 5 swivel options. Here's my take, and where to get the best deals
00:26on swivel chairs vs Director Chairs, which is better? First up is the new Portable Outdoor
00:32Detachable Swivel Chair at $53.72. The thing that sold me on this one is the detachable design.
00:40The chair snaps off from the backrest and folds down into its own little seat,
00:44so it doesn't take up the whole back of your truck. There's a fishing tote stitched in for
00:49your cooler, rods, and snacks, which means one bag instead of three. It's been sold over 4-500 times
00:56and holds a 4.7 rating, so it's not some flash in the pan listing. At just over $50, it's
01:02the middle
01:02of the road on price and the top of the pack on practicality. If you fish and camp, this is
01:08the one.
01:09Now the splurge pick. The .y Swivel Camping Moon Chair is $92.33, and yes, that's real money for a
01:17chair. Here's why it's still worth stretching the budget. The frame is solid aluminum alloy,
01:24which is the difference between a chair that survives three seasons and a chair that survives
01:28three weekends. It's also a true moon chair shape, low and wide, so you sink into it instead of
01:33perching on it like a park bench. Zero complaints across nearly 4,500 sales and a perfect 5.0 rating.
01:42If the classic director chair is the cheap cardboard cutout of this category,
01:46this is the actual chair. Buy it if you want the last one you have to buy.
01:51Third is the Tinsel 2026 New Portable Outdoor Detachable Swivel Chair, $46.88.
01:58Same detachable trick as the first one, same fishing tote, but it's lighter in the wallet
02:03and the 2026 update means they reworked the frame joints where the old versions developed play.
02:09Over 4,200 sold and a 4.5 rating, which is a solid score for a chair.
02:15Honestly, this is the value version of the detachable idea.
02:19If you liked what I said about that first chair but wanted to save about $7, this is your answer.
02:25Then there's the lightweight swivel chairs for camping at $31.95, and this is the one I keep
02:31reaching for. It's fully 360-degree rotatable, which sounds like a gimmick until you're sitting
02:37at a fire pit and turning to talk to somebody behind you without standing up. It comes with a carry
02:42bag,
02:43so it lives in your side pocket, and at under $32 with a 5.0 rating from over 4,100
02:49buyers,
02:49the value here is almost silly. This is the best buy on the list for anyone who wants swivel action
02:55sheep. So that's my 5, from the budget-friendly swivel to the proper luxury aluminum one.

03:07I test more chairs than anyone, and I'm not stopping yet.
