00:10The ice is melting, the lava is rising, and one very unlucky squirrel is about to cause it all
00:17over again. Ice Age, boiling point, is officially on the way, bringing the herd back to the big
00:24screen on February 5th, 2027, more than a decade after Collision Course. Ray Romano returns
00:31as Manny, John Leguizamo is back as Sid, Dennis Leary voices Diego, Queen Latifah returns
00:38as Ellie, and Simon Pegg is once again the one-eyed weasel Buck. This time, the herd heads
00:44into never-before-seen corners of the treacherous Lost World, the underground dinosaur kingdom
00:50from the third film, in what Disney calls a dinosaur and lava-filled adventure. It is
00:56also a historic first, because this is the first theatrical Ice Age movie made without
01:02Blue Sky Studios, which shut down in 2021, so 20th century animation is now in charge.
01:09The film was announced in November 2024 at D23 in Brazil, and was first dated for December
01:1618th, 2026, but it moved after Avengers Doomsday landed on that same day. The new title and date
01:23were revealed at Destination D23 in August 2025. In April 2026, Cinemacon audiences saw the opening
01:32scene, with Scrat and Baby Scrat escaping a volcanic eruption, and on June 4th, the first teaser arrived
01:40along with the news that John C. Duncan, who made The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wilde, is directing,
01:46with longtime producer Lori Forte back as well. The teaser also settled one mystery. Sean William
01:53Scott had said he believed his opossum Crash would be killed off, saying the movie doesn't need two
01:59little opossums. Yet Crash and Eddie are right there in the footage. The stakes are huge, because the five
02:05earlier films have earned more than $3.2 billion worldwide. As Forte once said, if the audiences
02:13want it, we've got plenty of ideas. So, can the herd survive the heat? Mark February 5th, because the
02:21Ice Age is about to reach its boiling point.
