00:00Six days on from being on the receiving end of Real Madrid's dramatic late turnaround.
00:06Roma are back on the same Stadio Olimpico stage.
00:09Hoping and expecting for a rapid...
00:12As Mancini and Ndeka make way to the bench.
00:15Nicolo Pesilli is Kone's replacement in midfield.
00:18They are without Andres Spora up front.
00:20The experienced striker that sits this one out through Ilmus.
00:23And with Roman Cirecai also missing because of a back problem.
00:28Underway at the Olimpico on match day three.
00:32Roma so close to the win here last week against Real Madrid,
00:35but their late unravelling has really piled on the pressure and importance of tonight.
00:40Asli is going to reach it, because of that he's got room to surge into here.
00:45Asli still going, Daniel Marlin to Pellegrini.
00:49And then just wide from Pesilli.
00:51I say just wide, he knew actually when he made contact there.
00:54There's Hermoso.
00:58Pesilli.
01:02And Molina in space to deliver a deep cross.
01:05Pellegrini able to take it down, not quite able to match it with the finish though.
01:12Asli going to leave it by the lots of things to Pellegrini here.
01:14We've seen him have a go from this sort of range already tonight.
01:19He will try something similar.
01:21Dangerous one.
01:22And in from right on the line by Mario Hermoso.
01:27And Romo do have the goal that they've been threatening almost since the start.
01:37The centre backs combining there when the free kick came in from Pellegrini.
01:42And Hermoso was the one in the perfect place to profit.
01:46Right on the line just to nudge it home.
01:52Get the home side into the ascendancy.
01:57As they've been threatening, as I say, right from the outset.
02:05Able to turn it in despite the presence of Vat Bayern.
02:11Toying is for Van Bratislava at times tonight.
02:13Here's Wesley.
02:16Pellegrini.
02:17And a go.
02:19Takas made the save, looked comfortable.
02:22He's won the free kick for them here.
02:28And Seguyan is the one who's going to take it.
02:32He's flicked on but ultimately harmlessly behind by Pekorni.
02:41Pellegrini.
02:42Excellent ball into the path of Daniel Marlin.
02:46And Marlin didn't quite get hold of the shot, but it will be turned in for two.
02:51It is Nehuel Molina.
02:54Romo double their lead.
03:00And take a big stride, you suspect, to their first win of this league phase.
03:07Marlin denied his goal, didn't really get hold of his shot,
03:10but Takas could only turn it into the path of Molina.
03:15And the Argentinian sticks it away.
03:17To open his account for this season's Champions League.
03:20Only a second goal in the competition on his 40th appearance in it.
03:26It's an awful long way back for Slovan Bratislava from here.
03:30Marlin certainly playing his part.
03:35Sensing his opportunity was Molina arriving in that part of the pitch.
03:39And then...
03:41Shaladi.
03:42And that's going to be half-time at the Olimpico, where it's so far so good for Roma.
03:46They've had more than a degree of control and all the problems as the teams head for the tunnel.
03:54Tall order for Yaya Toure's team.
03:56If they are to get their first ever Champions League point on the board,
04:00they will certainly have to do it the hard way.
04:03As did Molina's one previous strike in the competition.
04:06This is Daniel Marlin.
04:08And it might come back his way.
04:10Yes, it did.
04:11He reacted really well.
04:14Pellegrini played it back in to the path of Marlin.
04:24A couple of goals in Serie A already this season for another of Roma's sizeable Argentinian contingent.
04:37Pellegrini just shepherding that one back to the goalkeeper, Gallini.
04:43And will be needed for a little while longer with Fila still on the sidelines.
04:47Gallini who followed Gasparini from Atalanta at the start of last season.
04:54Back up on the bench for most of that one.
04:59It's right here.
05:00A little pressure on that Marseguin who is trying to shepard it out of play.
05:03Hasn't been able to do that.
05:05And pays a heavy price.
05:07It's powered in by Pesili.
05:093-0 right back.
05:12And they really are running away with it now.
05:17First Champions League goal for Nicolo Pesili.
05:21Who was in the right spot just to thump that home.
05:30Pesili had hoped that the ball would go beyond the bylay.
05:33But it didn't.
05:36And again Roma just react quicker.
05:40It's quite a moment for Nicolo Pesili.
05:45Keeping the pressure on.
05:49Actually getting it back from Pesili.
05:52And doing beautifully.
05:54And going down and the referee says penalty.
05:58It will be the chance for another one.
06:00Sandro Scherer pointing to the spot.
06:07Up against Dominic Tekes.
06:15Tekes.
06:16It's Daniel Marlin.
06:17It's an excellent penalty.
06:18And it needed to be.
06:20Tekes went the right way but couldn't get there.
06:23And Daniel Marlin has his goal.
06:254-0 Roma.
06:26Not yet at the hour.
06:30Much needed.
06:32Return to winning ways in the Champions League.
06:39Norman does not miss those in the mood that he is in right now.
06:44Still so far without an attempt on target.
06:46Still just a one attempt in total in the game.
06:49A lovely little flick there by Pesili.
06:52And the shot when it came was from Castro that just clears the crossbar.
06:59In goes the corner.
07:01Rising highest there was Balerdi.
07:03Didn't quite get the power on the header.
07:05To extend Dominic Tekes.
07:08Pesili.
07:08Score of the third goal.
07:10Takes the corner kick.
07:11It's cleared back straight to him to have another go.
07:14All threatening from Pesili this time.
07:16And it was Jeladi's header.
07:17It was saved by Tekes.
07:20Always well to set one up in the first half.
07:22Daniele Jeladi.
07:22To his follow centre back, Mario Hermoso.
07:26Trying to join him on the score sheet.
07:28They all want to get involved, understandably, in these circumstances.
07:41Maybe just a second win in the last seven Champions League games.
07:44Going back to that 2018-19 campaign, the last time they were in it.
07:51The ninth win in the last 11 at home in the competition.
07:56Only two exceptions, both defeats against Real Madrid.
07:59And here is Divine Wrench.
08:00He gets the shot away.
08:04He was always just going wide.
08:06Didn't miss by too much.
08:09At no point tonight, though, has there been any sense of history repeating itself.
08:14Any danger of that.
08:15Roma still looking much more likely to score the game's next goal.
08:19And Molina having a go at attempting to do that.
08:22Going for the spectacular.
08:25In the swinging corner.
08:27He's flipped on, but only partially cleared.
08:29And thumped back in by Jeladi.
08:35Roma have five.
08:37Or do they? No.
08:40The flag's gone up to curtail the celebrations.
08:43Well, it was thumped in.
08:45I can certainly see the difference that he's made to this Roma team.
08:49A Roma team who have their first win of this season's Champions League.
08:54On their return to the competition after seven years away.
08:57All right.
