01:15have this boom of hotels and casinos international hospitality and at the same time you were in a
01:24place that is very much influenced by its history which is Portuguese and Chinese I'm also the founder
01:36of Liège it's our waffle brand this was a brand that was created by Maggie my wife and myself ten

01:46ago the reason why we started the Belgian waffle why we started Liège in Macau is because of nostalgia
01:53and family the people of Macau are very open to gastronomy they are exposed to a lot of foods coming

02:01everywhere in the world and so we thought that we should give that waffle a chance starting a
02:08business in Macau is fairly easy I think the government and the administrations are trying
02:13to make it as straightforward as possible Macau is very small but at the same time is connected
02:19to the world it is very well located so in terms of business it offers everything that an
02:25international city would want to boast at the same time it's a village so we connected very quickly
02:33to the community so we thought that this was the perfect place to create a business but at the
02:39same time build a family
02:48Macau can connect you to the environment so there's a lot of hiking trails in color on some very green
02:55environment so you know you have business you have convenience with school and everything but
03:02what about nature we have it too I coach rugby on Saturday morning it started because I wanted the
03:11kids to do sport and I'm a former rugby player I saw the the club the Macau bats it's run

03:19former rugby players who are parents so that the sense of community is very strong
03:34I play in a rock band we started as a small idea very quickly became something quite serious we've
03:41performed in China in Hong Kong in Macau several times see that shows you that Macau allows you to do
