Gene Kardos & His Orchestra - Sheltered By The Stars

Although largely forgotten today, Gene Kardos' orchestra had a pretty advanced sound, announcing the swing period. None of the soloists are too well-known (trombonist Pete Salemi comes the closest), but the band is quite strong, with exciting ensembles and purposeful solos. This lovely record was made in 1932. The vocal is by Dick Robertson.
