00:00F and frankly, he should be impeached. We are in a moment where the fact that Pete Hegseth even
00:10suggested that somehow that was an appropriate thing to do when we haven't executed anyone that
00:17way since World War Two. But to be clear, this is a place incomplete. I have seen enough and I
00:25think
00:26the people of Minnesota have seen enough from Pete Hegseth. He absolutely should be impeached.
00:32I have one more question on this topic. There's a Minnesotan, Pete Hegseth, who is Secretary of
00:36Defense, which the administration now calls the Department of War. There's an impeachment
00:39resolution pending before Congress. How do you assess Secretary Hegseth's performance?
00:44Michelle Tafoya. I would tell you this. I think the grade is incomplete. We have an incomplete
00:51grade right now. We need to see. One thing I'm happy to see is that the President of the United
00:55States canceled this online viewing of this death penalty case in Texas. I'm happy to see
01:01that. I think the grade is incomplete. Peggy Flanagan, Pete Hegseth, your assessment.
01:06F and frankly, he should be impeached. We are in a moment where the fact that Pete Hegseth even
01:16suggested that somehow that was an appropriate thing to do when we haven't executed anyone that
01:24way since World War II. But to be clear, this is a place incomplete. I have seen enough. And I
01:32think
01:32the people of Minnesota have seen enough from Pete Hegseth. He absolutely should be impeached. And when
01:39we're talking about my opponent just brought up the $40 trillion debt, to be clear, so much of that is
01:48from tax breaks for billionaires who do not need them. Donald Trump, who continues to enrich himself
01:55and his billionaire besties at the cost of taking health care away. Snap from Minnesotans. And that
02:03is something that, frankly, my opponent cheered on the big, beautiful bill. And these are the results.
02:08We're going to actually transition. I do have one retort to this, please. We have a $40 trillion
02:13debt. This is a massive national security issue. It is a spending problem. Since Ronald Reagan,
02:20all of the legislation that has passed in Washington that has led to this debt since Reagan,
02:2677% of that legislation has been bipartisan. Bipartisanship got us into this debt. It's going
02:32to take bipartisanship to get us out. We need to send someone to Washington who is willing to reach
02:37across the aisle and work with others. That is me. Every time we've zeroed out the debt,
02:41it has been Democrats. So we need to send Democrats to Washington, D.C.
02:46Peggy Flanagan, you've railed against President Trump's tariffs. Are there any he's imposed that you
02:50support? I mean, I think we are clear here in Minnesota, you know, steel tariffs in particular
02:55are important. But the tariffs that we see happening right now are killing our industries.
03:02soybeans, corn growers are feeling the squeeze. We have lost entire markets, potentially for
03:11generations. I think Congress has to do their job. And we need to send people who are going to stand
03:17up to this president and realize that, you know, tariffs are under the control of Congress. As we see
03:24the trade wars and we're picking fights with Canada, we're picking fights with Mexico. We need people who
03:30understand that our farmers are feeling the squeeze. We need people who understand the cost of living
03:37that is skyrocketing for individuals simply because of these tariffs, which let's be real what they are.
03:44They are attacks on Minnesotans.
