01:28Harmony is important in management, in business, in enterprise, harmonizing resources is important.
01:36So art is a very important medium for expression.
01:39There's an artist called Jijulal who has done most of these paintings.
01:43And you know Shala Bhanjikam, the Kerala style of art and architecture.
01:47We're talking about Keraliyam as a way of expressing the ethos of the management school.
01:54Predicated on Satyam, Nityam and Purnam.
01:56These are our values.
01:57Purnam, fulfillment comes from being true to your soil.
02:01Being true to the context from where you arrive.
02:03And Kerala is the context.
02:05It's culture.
02:06The paintings depict a whole range of expressions of Kerala including Onam, including the dance forms of Kerala.
02:16And so is it possible that we can integrate art and aesthetics as a fusion in terms of principles of
02:25enterprise and management?
02:26Art and aesthetics has a huge impact on how businessmen do business, how entrepreneurs create wealth.
02:35Without that harmony, the wealth creation becomes a very noisy and ineffective affair.
02:43So we think in this institution we must lay our foundations on the nature of the soil from which the
02:52school has taken shape.
02:54IIM Kori Kod is an expression of the aspirations of the people of Kerala.
02:59And this aspiration is held together, not just in the buildings, but in the architecture, in the way we harmonize
03:10the local with the global.
03:11And our mission of globalizing Indian thought finds expression in this.
03:17The idea was ours, but the expression was artist Bijulal, who is the one who actually did these paintings for
03:25us.
03:26I saw some of his paintings, they look very authentic and original.
03:30And the result was that we were able to get his talent on board and find space for him here
03:40on our walls.
03:41And so the murals were created by that local artist, who has done a wonderful job as far as you
03:45can see.
