00:00Long flights can be totally brutal, especially when you run out of downloaded shows or the
00:04in-flight Wi-Fi cuts out. If you're flying with a partner or the kids, tabletop games are the best
00:10way to kill a few hours, but ordinary pieces will slide right off that tray table the second you
00:14hit a bump. That's why I hunted down the best deals on the top 5 magnetic travel games for
00:19plane rides, so you can play comfortably at 30,000 feet without chasing pawns down the aisle.
00:25Kicking things off at number 1, we have this classic magnetic folding wooden chess set.
00:30The standout feature here is the craftsmanship even though it folds down into a slim profile for your
00:35carry-on, you still get genuine solid wood instead of lightweight plastic. At just $14.19, with nearly
00:425,000 sold and a great 4.6 star rating, it's totally worth it if you want that traditional,
00:48high-quality chess feel on a budget. Next up is this 29-centimeter wooden folding
00:53chess set, which has earned a stellar 4.8 rating from thousands of travelers.
00:58What makes this one really special is the felted interior storage with dedicated cutouts for every
01:03single piece, meaning zero annoying rattling in your backpack while you sprint between gates.
01:08Coming in at $27.88, it's worth the slight upgrade because the stronger magnets and larger
01:14board area make it super comfortable to play on standard seat trays. If that last board feels just
01:20an inch or 2-2 wide for cramped economy seating, this 24-centimeter folding wooden set is the
01:25ultimate sweet spot. It gives you the exact same felt-lined piece protection and gorgeous wood
01:30finish, but in a slightly tighter footprint designed specifically for compact spaces.
01:35At $20.82, it's an ideal compromise between a premium tactile experience and true travel-friendly
01:41packability. Now, if you want something ultra-lightweight that can slip right into a jacket pocket,
01:47check out this mini magnetic plastic chess set. The best feature is its featherweight,
01:52notebook-style fold that takes up virtually zero space in a personal item or kid's backpack.
01:58Priced at only $5.10, it costs less than an airport latte, making it an absolute no-brainer
02:04purchase to keep little hands busy without stressing if a piece ever goes missing.
02:08Rounding out the list is something different for strategy lovers, this foldable magnetic crystal
02:13go-set. Instead of chess, you get the ancient game of go with gorgeous, transparent plastic
02:19stones that snap securely to the grid with built-in magnets. Boasting a 4.8 rating and priced at just
02:25$10.50, it's worth picking up because it offers endless replay value for two players and packs away
02:31completely flat when the flight attendant brings the meal cart by.
02:35That wraps up my favorite picks for staying entertained in the sky. I've put the direct
