00:00Cool and dry in the Rockies tonight and week six of the NFL season begins here in Denver as the
00:08Broncos take the field with Bo Nix now in his third season at the helm and the Super Bowl champs,
00:17the Seattle Seahawks ride into town along with the supreme wideout Jackson Smith and Jigman on Thursday night football.
00:29Darnold quickly to the outside that's a first down catch is made by Cooper Cup got a few Seattle fans
00:35here tonight serenading in the quarterback Sam Darnold and Jones lined up in the backfield and he splits wide left.
00:42Sam comes the other way and again about a four yard pickup Smith and Jigman who leads the league in
00:48just about everything makes the stop. Opening drive of the game as we play number seven.
00:54Take to Jones under pressure down he goes at the 46 yard line. McMillan who does a lot of third
01:02and ten from the 45. Pressure again. Down he goes again. Back to back sacks. Q Robinson almost had the
01:12sack the last time. Gets one here. Coming off the edge against his talented front from Seattle.
01:21The ground again. Then a very short gain again. Third down back is Tyler Bidet. Third and eight. Next to
01:31the outside and it's incomplete. Julian Love with good coverage on it. Got a hand on it. Second down and
01:39three. Toss back here and a cutback here. Nice move there by Emmanuel Wilson.
01:47He's in to protect. And the pass over the middle and that's incomplete. His eyes from the left he'll come
01:52back to the back side. He starts that way. Knows he's got J.S.M. between the two linebackers. If
01:57you notice J.S.M.
01:58Very capable of it. Michael Dixon to hold it. Kick is on its way in altitude and it is no
02:05problem. From 55. Myers gives Seattle a lead. 3-0 Seahawks.
02:12Right now they've not been able to do that. A lot of that has to do with I think who
02:15they played as much as anything.
02:16Last week beat the Chargers. It had very little to do with offensive juggernaut as Jalen Waddell makes that catch.
02:24They went out to second down and seven.
02:28Play action. Pressure. Shuts up the screen.
02:31Harvey. First down.
02:33And a lot more.
02:36Takes it almost to midfield.
02:39Bidde is the back. Third down and three.
02:43Deep drop.
02:44Looking long.
02:45Throwing long.
02:47And it's incomplete.
02:49Good coverage on the play.
02:51You got Mims and you got Witherstone.
02:56And they do as the play clock gets the one.
02:59They pick up the first down.
03:00Bidde on a fourth and three.
03:03A late runner in horse racing.
03:07Adam Prentice lines up now in the backfield on a third down and eight.
03:13That is caught.
03:14And that will be a first down of the 30-yard line by Evan Ingram, the tight end.
03:21Seven guys up front.
03:23Pressure on Nick's throws.
03:25Caught on the run.
03:26First down.
03:27Cortland Sutton makes his 50-50 look.
03:31Second and eight.
03:33Pressure.
03:34Throws.
03:35Caught.
03:35Little room to roam.
03:37Breaking a tackle.
03:38Setting up a first down and goal.
03:40R.J. Harvey to the four-yard line.
03:43Six runs.
03:45Nine passes on this drive to this point.
03:48Second down and goal.
03:50On the ground and into the end zone.
03:53J.K. Dobbins for the touchdown.
04:07Field's at the five.
04:11Now past the 20.
04:14Shahid, another great run back.
04:16And brings it out to almost midfield.
04:21From the 49.
04:26On the ground.
04:28He angles his way close to a first.
04:32Wilson.
04:32Lore the defense and bait them to set up those play-action opportunities.
04:36The back is Alani.
04:38The fake to him.
04:39Darnold protected well.
04:41But now they start chasing him.
04:43And he has to throw that away.
04:47They're averaging three yards.
04:49A carry.
04:51Goes to the air.
04:52And that is almost intercepted.
04:54It's incomplete.
04:55Brandon Jones.
04:56Who had a pick last week.
04:58Oh.
04:59Richard Sherman and company.
05:00Oh, perfect.
05:01Third down and ten.
05:03Catch made here.
05:04Mims.
05:05And he'll come up a little bit shy of the first down.
05:08But a flag thrown on this play.
05:10Murphy made the stop there.
05:15Through the hole.
05:17On its way.
05:19Dobbins.
05:20To the 40-yard line.
05:26Waddle comes out of the backfield that time.
05:29Keep it on the ground.
05:30Get the first.
05:31And the 25 goes RJ Harvey.
05:35Great snap to Harvey.
05:37And Harvey takes it into the end zone.
05:41So the man who is a rookie who had 12 touchdowns last season takes it to the end zone to
05:48make it 13-3.
05:52They wanted to work hard to try to get others involved.
05:54But down 14-3.
05:56You got to go to your guy, right?
05:58And that kick will bound out of bounds.
06:01So it will come out to the 40-yard line.
06:03Break there for...
06:10Good run here.
06:1211-yard pickup.
06:14Wilson.
06:15Save us.
06:16Sticking there with the run day.
06:18Second and four.
06:20Outside.
06:21Turns the corner.
06:22First down.
06:22Couple of more.
06:23For Jones.
06:25Who did not have a carry this season.
06:26Coming into the game tonight now has three.
06:30Second down and 10.
06:32Little end around here.
06:34You got Shahid.
06:36Loses the ball.
06:37Ball was out.
06:39And...
06:40The Denver Broncos have it.
06:42The Denver defender, Benito.
06:44Is he on top of him when the ball comes out?
06:50Well, that ball looked like it started to move before he...
06:54His backside touched the surface.
06:59Benito got it out.
07:00Sternad recovers it.
07:03Second down and 10.
07:05From the 34-yard line.
07:08Knicks deep drop.
07:09Throws caught.
07:11And Ingram gets tackled up at the 38-yard line.
07:15Seattle cold that timeout.
07:17Trying to stop him on a third down and six here.
07:21Chase throwing.
07:22Throws it into the ground.
07:24So it's fourth down.
07:25So Seattle left plenty of time.
07:27149.
07:28Minute 14 and tick and counting.
07:33Donald from the pocket.
07:35Throws!
07:35And it is a little deep intended for Rahid Shahid.
07:41Makes the grab.
07:43How about the ball by Darnold under the door?
07:46Him extending.
07:47Shahid, what an effort.
07:48They're going to take a peek at that.
07:50It'd be hard to imagine that ball not touching the surface.
07:54Play clock at three.
07:58Four-man rush.
08:00Protection is good.
08:01Pass is caught.
08:03Can Cup get to the marker?
08:05He cannot.
08:08McMillan.
08:09Look at the scoreboard at the end.
08:13Knicks on the run.
08:14Throws.
08:15Open man.
08:15Breaks a tackle.
08:17Spinning his way to a first down is Courtland Sutton.
08:24On the ground.
08:26Stop for a loss of one.
08:33Knicks trying to find somebody dancing away.
08:38Chase and just has to fling it away.
08:42Seahawks won't have a grounding penalty that time.
08:46Their longest play tonight, 13 yards.
08:50And a pass to Cup.
08:54Beat put on again.
08:55Cash is made.
08:57Breaking the tackle and getting that first down.
09:00Smith and Jigba.
09:07Going deep and it is Shahid getting position and grabbing it.
09:16Got away from Barron.
09:18Two yards.
09:20Well, this is a good job of using JSN 22.
09:24We'll show you in a second.
09:25Brandon Jones.
09:26He's got a sink.
09:27So it creates a one-on-one opportunity.
09:42And Jigba is in the slot.
09:45On the left side.
09:46Donald looking that way.
09:48Donald under heat again.
09:50Donald getting chased.
09:51Donald getting taken down.
09:53Jonah Ellis stayed right with him.
09:56Fourth down.
09:57to try to get it to a one position.
10:00Disadvantage.
10:01And the kick is off the upright.
10:04No good.
10:09From the 37.
10:11Denver begins this drive after the missed field goal at 10.
10:15Knicks throws.
10:16Caught.
10:17On the sideline.
10:19Dobbins.
10:20They're sitting here 3-2.
10:22Probably the toughest six-game start of anybody in the league.
10:26If they can find a way to finish this off and win it, they're 4-2.
10:29Yes.
10:30Knicks dropped it.
10:30And then wins.
10:32And Adam Prentice was going back and forth.
10:35Sets up next to the quarterback.
10:38And Knicks throws.
10:39And it's batted down at the line of scrimmage.
10:42Incomplete fourth down.
10:44Ernest Jones.
10:45He'll take it to the end zone.
10:47Through the ball.
10:52Donald fires.
10:53Caught open.
10:54Making the grab.
10:55Getting the first down.
10:59Donald quickly.
11:00Outside.
11:01Caught.
11:01Spinning around.
11:02Getting that first down.
11:04Needed five.
11:05Got eight.
11:06Abrams drain.
11:07Second and nine.
11:11Shahid moving.
11:13Shahid makes the catch.
11:14Shahid takes it out to the 47-yard line.
11:21Hangs in the pocket.
11:23Chase that in the pocket.
11:24Goes down.
11:25Back at the 31-yard line.
11:27Nick Granito.
11:29Second out eight.
11:33And a toss here.
11:35And about a one-yard gain.
11:36I mean, this game is real simple.
11:38This game belongs to the...
11:43Needs seven to convert.
11:45Nick's rolling.
11:46Nick's rolling.
11:48And that is incomplete.
11:50For Cortland Sutton.
11:53One big pass play.
11:54The 43-yarder to Shahid.
11:56He throws.
11:57He's under pressure.
11:58Gets it away.
11:59Caught.
11:59That's Smith and Jiglick.
12:00That's the first down.
12:02That was a heck of a job by Darnall.
12:03He went from top.
12:05Final minute of the third quarter.
12:09Good run here.
12:12Fighting his way to get a first down.
12:13That's Emmanuel Wilson.
12:19Does he go that way?
12:20He looks that way.
12:20Then he goes to Tony Horton on the outside.
12:24Torrey Horton picks up the first down.
12:29Back to the ground.
12:31Polanyi.
12:32Nothing.
12:39Darnall under.
12:40Beat again.
12:42Down he goes again.
12:43at the 46-yard line.
12:46Tonight's about trying to find a way to get a win and try to get the four and two.
12:51On the ground.
12:52First down.
12:53Harvey.
12:54When you say manage the game, that's exactly what he's doing.
12:57But you know how every quarterback, and you are one.
12:59Yep.
13:00They hate the term game manager.
13:01No, I know.
13:02Third down and six.
13:06And that pass is snatched at the 30-yard line.
13:10They're going to spot it right at the 30.
13:15Rush four.
13:16Pass caught.
13:17On the run.
13:18And all the way to the midfield stripe.
13:21To pick up the first down.
13:22J.S.N.
13:24Granted an altitude.
13:25But they're going to go four out of fourth and four.
13:28Here we go.
13:30Catch made.
13:3131-yard line.
13:32They go to the main man.
13:33Of course, J.S.N.
13:34First down.
13:35Sloan getting up.
13:37Smith and Jig was not caught at eight.
13:39Gets a breather on this play.
13:42Darnold backing up.
13:43Has time.
13:44Throws into traffic.
13:46And that one is incomplete.
13:50Or is it at this point?
13:52Yes.
13:53Hit the ground.
13:55Second year out of Colorado State.
13:57Back here in Denver.
13:58Tries to work back to the ball.
13:59That's what you thought.
14:00You thought it was close.
14:07Escapes.
14:08He's going to run with it.
14:09And he's going to get the first down.
14:11And a few more.
14:12So Sam Darnold.
14:13Three timeouts.
14:14They've got to close this drive off.
14:16That's second and ten.
14:18Getting on the ground.
14:19Keeps it on the ground.
14:20Look at this.
14:21Taking everybody with him.
14:22But there's a marker down as Helani takes him to the one-yard line.
14:28Gain of 13.
14:30First and goal.
14:33Can he get to the end zone, to the outside?
14:35Yes, he can.
14:38Helani.
14:39To the touchdown.
14:42Smith and Jigma.
14:43To the right.
14:45Goes in motion.
14:46He'll come out of the slot here.
14:47Along with Cupp.
14:49Darnold rolls that way.
14:50Throws the other way.
14:52Tipped.
14:53And is it caught?
14:54Yes.
14:56Shahid on the carom.
14:58Keeps his feet in.
14:59And gets the two-pointer to make it a three-point game.
15:03He rolls to his right.
15:04After.
15:07Deep drop.
15:09Pressured.
15:11Escaping.
15:12Looking.
15:14Seeks the sideline.
15:17Chased out by Lawrence.
15:20Three receivers set to the left.
15:27Chased.
15:28And sack.
15:30Taken down.
15:32At home.
15:33Second and 16.
15:36Darnold.
15:37Deep.
15:38And that passes at the 50-yard lineman.
15:41Hold in by you-know-who.
15:44Jackson.
15:45And deep drop.
15:46Near the line of scrimmage.
15:48There he is up here at the top.
15:50Darnold again under this duress.
15:51Under this pass rush.
15:52The way they've gone after him all night.
15:54Really not able to.
16:01Pass.
16:02Caught.
16:03There he is again.
16:04Big number 11.
16:05Nine-yard gain.
16:07Shots up to the left.
16:08Cupp goes in motion.
16:10Darnold.
16:11Throws to the left.
16:13And that is pick-off!
16:14It is Abrams' dream.
16:19Watch him get undercut because of the route by Horton.
16:24You know, you've got to staircase this against Mann and try to pull some separation.
16:28He's just lazy on the route.
16:30And it allows 31 to undercut it.
16:33You know, it's easy to put that on Sam Darnold, obviously, for the decision.
16:38But the route doesn't help him.
16:40And it allows Chris Abrams' dream to be able to get underneath that.
16:47And give Q Robinson an assist on that baby.
16:51Putting the pressure on.
16:53Second and eighth.
17:00Take a timeout here.
17:02Make it third down and long.
17:04Stops the clock.
17:061-16.
17:08Third and eighth.
17:09As you go screen here.
17:13Looking.
17:15Oh, and that one is knocked out.
17:171-10.
17:18So they do a big favor here.
17:20Drive.
17:21Leaves him with 1-10.
17:24Croshaw.
17:27Eighth punt of the night.
17:2915-yard line.
17:31Shahid.
17:33Shahid passed the 30.
17:35Shahid passed the 40.
17:36Out of bounds at the 45-yard line.
17:40Sets him up near midfield.
17:42Second and 10.
17:48Blocking is good from the moment up front.
17:49Then he gets hit as he throws.
17:51And that is caught at the 49-yard line.
17:54Tight end.
17:54There is Barner.
18:01Benito couldn't get to him.
18:03Donald throws.
18:04Sliding 40-yard line.
18:07That's Shahid right there.
18:08That's the first down.
18:09The race to the line.
18:11From the 23.
18:12That's Shahid in motion.
18:16Sam to the sideline.
18:18And that is Holden, Smith, and Jigba.
18:21One of the crazy stuff that's happened.
18:23Who knows?
18:25And the kick is good.
18:30Hardly.
18:31Snap.
18:32Hold.
18:32Clean.
18:33Just in bounds.
18:35Yep.
18:37Hooking, but stays in.
18:39Spot the ball at the 13-yard line.
18:43Start on the ground.
18:46Nice run there.
18:51Darnold.
18:52Quick throw.
18:53Juggled, and then caught.
18:55Smith and Jigba.
18:56Almost lost it.
18:58Makes the catch.
18:59Enough for the first.
19:00Put those three receivers all to the left side.
19:04Cup goes in motion.
19:06Darnold throws.
19:07Darnold has that one picked off.
19:11kick on McMillan with the interception.
19:17And a route that could go behind him.
19:19He's given Darnold a read.
19:22And kind of an indicator to kind of say, hey, I'm staying underneath.
19:25But it's a safety.
19:26Clearly in field goal range.
19:28If they get it.
19:30Start here from the 43.
19:32Hand the ball off.
19:34Four-yard run here.
19:36Harvey.
19:3739-yard line.
19:38Minwari.
19:41third down and two.
19:44Knicks to the outside.
19:47No gain.
19:48Okay.
19:48So now Seattle is able to stop him.
19:51Knight makes the tackle.
19:56Snap good.
19:58Oh, good.
19:59But the flag is down.
20:00You got a flag down.
20:01So everybody running out into the field for the moment.
20:04Including the mascot.
20:06And everybody from the sideline.
20:08But let's get the call from Brad Rogers.
20:12Personal foul.
20:13Leverage.
20:13Defense number 13.
20:15That penalty's declined.
20:16Result of the play is a good field goal.
20:22In overtime.
20:23The Denver Broncos win it 17-14.
20:27Denver Broncos who had an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter.
20:31Gave that up.
20:32But wind up winning it at the end.
