00:00:01The toys are lying on the floor. There's some kind of doll, plastic and bendable, blue and green, about six
00:00:11inches tall.
00:00:12The little boy calls them his figures and plays with them every day, imagining family romances with complicated plots.
00:00:22One blue figure is always placed off to the side, standing on its feet, but bent over with its hands
00:00:31pressed to its face.
00:00:34From a distance, no one can tell what separates this one from the rest of the grave, whether he's an
00:00:42expatriate, an exile, a pariah, a leper.
00:00:47Let me introduce you to the sorrow figure, the little boy said one day. He's so sad, no one can
00:00:55help him.
00:00:56It was then I noticed the sorrow figure in the sunshine, glowing, a haze of blueness rising from its bent
00:01:06down body.
00:01:08I leaned closer. I heard its little toy wail trapped inside the plastic body. I heard the shudders, the sobs,
00:01:19the oats.
00:01:21And I heard, too, all the other toys chattering and enjoying being played with, as if nothing like this could
00:01:32ever happen to them.
00:01:55I heard, too, all the toys Blogger and the two are sets told me.
00:01:58It can't be the same. When you get your locks on your own, it's not bad either.
00:02:04I only change, it's lying about me, oh, sitting in the backyard, thinking about who I've been down, sitting in
00:02:19the backyard, thinking about who I've been down, and I feel us proud of all, all the time.
00:02:31I amつasing the design of my life, the heart and feel like I love you, I feel the truth, and
00:02:47I feel a delight, thinking about who I've become, I feel a delight, thinking about who I've been down and
00:02:58are who I am.
00:02:59We'll find, we'll find, we'll find
00:03:04We'll find, we'll find
00:03:12We'll find, we'll find
00:03:16I love, the city is mine
00:03:19I will find, I'll see
00:03:23My eyes are so thick
00:04:28Change, it's mine about me, change, it's mine about me, oh.
00:04:47Thank you so much.
00:04:50It's amazing to see all of you here.
00:04:54It's incredible.
00:04:56I'm having a little feedback in my ear pack thing.
00:05:00I don't know if you can do something about that.
00:05:08I'm so grateful to have you all here, and as you know, I love poetry, and that last song
00:05:15was based on the poem that I wrote, or that I found at the library, which is the first
00:05:22thing that I read today.
00:05:24And I had gone to the library because I really wanted to apply for a PhD program.
00:05:31I wanted to leave the city and keep studying English.
00:05:39And I'd written all these applications, and then the last book that I found there, I set
00:05:44out to read every book by an admissions committee member at the library that they had, and that
00:05:50was the last one that I found.
00:05:51And it totally changed the course of my life, and I feel like that's kind of what I'm about.
00:05:58I think poetry has that ability to change our lives, and language has that ability to change
00:06:06our lives.
00:06:06So I write a lot of songs like lyrics first.
00:06:11And I think someone once asked me, is music your religion?
00:06:17And I said, no, I think poetry is.
00:06:20Music is just for fun.
00:06:21So let's have some fun.
00:06:24Yay!
00:06:52Music is just for fun.
00:06:55I love you, and there's nothing about how much I'm stepping up in case you must receive a good story,
00:07:09and I tell myself sometimes these kids are ending like this part of my mind.
00:07:18I love you, and there's nothing about how much I'm believing. I love you, and there's nothing about how much
00:07:39I'm thinking.
00:07:41I will be the best, I will say you'll fail I want to make you fail
00:07:51And I will be the best, but I will be the best
00:07:56Me and you are who the best you are
00:08:04The best I am, the best I am, the best I am
00:08:09Is it easy to pass your heart straight in the world?
00:08:16You really start to match your life back
00:08:21Sometimes I'm going to quit
00:08:24That thing like this hard on my mind
00:08:28Then I moved to one side that I'm leaving
00:08:34I was waiting to lose you in my feelings
00:08:39And I gave it away to a while
00:08:45And I did my life on the fire
00:08:51And I'm gonna see my friends
00:08:56And I said you'd better not face your face
00:09:02And I'm going to see my friends
00:09:05And I'm going to see my friends
00:09:09And I'm going to see my friends
00:09:37I'm going to see my friends
00:09:41But what I'm doing, I feel like a world got bored
00:09:45And I wonder what I'm used over you
00:09:49And I can't believe what the hell is going to do
00:09:53And you stand out forever
00:10:00And I can't live my friends
00:10:03I can't live my friends
00:10:07I want to make you feel
00:10:09And I don't have my friends
00:10:13But I'm looking for any of us who dress your face
00:10:19Only for how many of you dress your face
00:10:25Only for how many of you dress your face
00:10:32Thank you
00:10:44So we're going to need some older songs too tonight
00:10:49Because obviously I don't need a favorite song
00:10:53And the song is about the first time
00:10:56Love, Curse, Love
00:10:58And then it's also about painting
00:11:01We're going to need some new songs
00:11:31So we're going to be watching Christmas
00:11:31And I'm going to dance to your heart.
00:11:42When I got there, your parents caught me in awe.
00:11:50And I'm going to dance in with you.
00:12:03I was your last, and you were the same passion
00:12:09None of the records, and none of the matches
00:12:17Oh, hey, look in this and blue
00:12:31If superior has swallowed us whole
00:12:36And what in the matter?
00:12:41What in the mind of us?
00:12:46I've been spending my free time in music
00:12:51My land says it's secret
00:12:55And no one can find me yet
00:13:00I've been saying it so late now in theaters
00:13:07Till I turn the curtain
00:13:10When no one's left watching us
00:13:15Always, always, always
00:13:20Forever, always, forever
00:13:25Forever, always, forever
00:13:44I feel when it is, and you are the same passion
00:13:51None of the records, and none of the magic
00:13:58Ooh, we've had a canvas in blue
00:14:12Always, always, always
00:14:17Always, always, forever
00:14:22Always, always, forever
00:14:32Rise, rise, rise, rise
00:14:46Rise, rise, rise, rise, rise, rise, rise
00:15:10Rise, rise, rise, rise
00:15:16Are you trying to get the static in mine?
00:15:24Woo, woo, woo, woo, woo
00:15:50Okay, so I asked my two cousins here because they wanted to play tonight, which could have gone really wrong,
00:15:59but they surprisingly chose this song, which I was not sure Jill did.
00:16:11But yeah, she's pretty cool, I guess. And you probably know this, so if you do, sing along.
00:16:45Woo, woo, woo!
00:16:47Woo!
00:16:49Woo!
00:16:50Woo, woo, woo, woo!
00:16:55I know you had death, but I still, still love you, do I tell you that.
00:17:03I see.
00:17:06blown out of...
00:17:08They say it, but I still, I felt it, yeah, it's simply love.
00:17:16I found my life, I'm trying to make your life part of all the other way we were.
00:17:29I will go down with these dreams and open my hands up.
00:17:36And it's when I'm done, I'm there with me, love, like my mind, love.
00:17:45Yeah, I'm in love, but no way we will be.
00:17:51And I know I love you, but it's my sad and it's so true to come back again.
00:17:58Yeah, I know I love you, but it's my sad and it's so true to come back again.
00:18:13Yeah, I know I love you, but it's my sad and it's so true to come back again.
00:18:24Yeah, I know I love you, but it's my sad and it's so true to come back again.
00:18:36Yeah, I know I love you, but it's my sad and it's so true to come back again.
00:18:52I know I love you, but it's my sad and it's so true to come back again.
00:19:22I'm in love and away with you
00:19:59I'm in love and I'm in love and I'm in love and
00:20:25I'm in love, I'm in love
00:20:31Let's go
00:20:33You didn't want to be weird and be the only one out of here
00:20:36That's nice
00:20:42Nice for you all
00:20:50I'm so so grateful
00:20:52Thank you for having all of you here.
00:25:38All right.
00:25:52That was kind of what I love the sun does.
00:26:28That was kind of what I love.
00:26:52That was kind of what I love.
00:27:22That was kind of what I love.
00:27:39That was kind of what I love.
00:27:52That was kind of what I love.
00:28:02That was kind of what I love.
00:28:27That was kind of what I love.
00:28:48That was kind of what I love.
00:29:23That was kind of what I love.
00:29:23That was kind of what I love.
00:29:54That was kind of what I love.
00:30:08That was kind of what I love.
00:30:10That was kind of what I love.
00:30:34That was kind of what I love.
00:30:46That was kind of what I love.
00:31:02That was kind of what I love.
00:31:05That was kind of what I love.
00:31:08That was kind of what I love.
00:31:12That was kind of what I love.
00:31:18That was kind of what I love.
00:31:27That was kind of what I love.
00:31:56That was kind of what I love.
00:31:58That was kind of what I love.
00:32:00That was kind of what I love.
00:32:23That was kind of what I love.
00:32:28That was kind of what I love.
00:32:29that was kind of what I love.
00:32:36I don't care.
00:32:40I don't care.
00:32:41That's kind of what I love.
00:32:44I don't care.
00:32:49Was it anything you tried to be?
00:32:55Lonely changed and that was your family
00:32:58Was everyone so happy that I'll be proud of you
00:33:05For turning rude and lonely now
00:33:10Since you have yours
00:33:16I couldn't believe it
00:33:21I couldn't believe it
00:33:26I couldn't believe it
00:33:30But I'll tell me why
00:33:39I love you.
00:33:43I love you.
00:33:48I love you.
00:33:51I love you.
00:33:57I love you.
00:34:02Speaking of my family,
00:34:05my cousin Sam
00:34:08is here all the way
00:34:09from Crystal Lake, Illinois.
00:34:14And that's exactly
00:34:15the way better singer than I am.
00:34:20I've asked him
00:34:22to join me on stage.
00:34:29Yeah, that's the mic.
00:34:32And we're going to
00:34:34sing a song that
00:34:36I believe Zach Leon will know very well.
00:34:40Yeah.
00:40:20Thank you so much for joining us.
00:41:22Oh, I've never had a rest of the inner soul that I've loved
00:41:31And I was lost and lost and lost and made me lose, I'm too close and proud of you
00:41:37Really, I just need a friend
00:41:40And maybe sometimes I'll forget for one night
00:41:45Then I'll share, I'll share on you
00:41:50Living in the dark, whispering the smallest words
00:41:58I ain't enough hope, but the city's telling me what I'm worth
00:42:06And I was lost and lost and lost and lost and lost and lost and found it
00:42:12Really, I just need a friend
00:42:15I'll make some stars, but I'll not forget for one night
00:42:20Then I'll share, I'll share, I'll share, I'll share
00:42:24There's a reason, I'll share, I'll share, I'll share, I'll share, I'll share
00:42:54We'll share, I'll share, I'll share, I'll share
00:43:00I'm from Ireland to Ireland
00:43:04I'm still a beautiful mother
00:43:08Oh
00:43:33So I've just been here tonight with my biggest lovely musicians around me, and I just wanted
00:43:42to say thank you so much.
00:43:44They have put a lot of work into this.
00:43:49And I put a lot of work into the car.
00:43:57And Mark, Fernandez, on the lake.
00:44:04And Pixie and Walshie on the track.
00:44:18Thank you very much to all of you for all the work you put into this.
00:44:29It's always a privilege to perform music at all, but with you especially.
00:44:38Thanks.
00:44:39.
00:44:45.
00:44:46.
00:44:46.
00:44:46.
00:44:46.
00:45:02Please fall apart, and I'll break your heart, I wasn't late, but I'm not.
00:45:16She was a girl, a soldier of the world, and fell out of trouble, and you both let her go.
00:45:29She was climbing on my shoulder, all I could see was hold her, it only made us closer, it seems
00:45:40you're lying.
00:45:42But I know that she loved me, and told me to remind me, as you put it all behind me.
00:45:51The baby I see, in the back of my mind, all the time, feels like a fever, like I'm burning
00:46:11light, like a sign.
00:46:20The baby I see, in the back of my mind, like a sign.
00:46:49The baby I see, in the back of my mind, I'm not.
00:46:57The baby I see, in the back of my mind, I'm not.
00:47:10The baby I see, in the back of my mind, all the time, feels like a fever, like I'm burning
00:47:32light, like a sign.
00:47:41The baby I see, in the back of my mind, all the time, feels like a fever, like a fever,
00:48:01like a fever, like a fever, like a fever.
00:48:04The baby I see, in the back of my mind, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like
00:48:33a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever,
00:48:33like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a
00:48:33fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like
00:48:33a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever,
00:48:33like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a
00:48:33fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like
00:48:33a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever, like a fever,
00:48:33like a fever, like a fever, like
00:48:38You're sick, no one knows you're sober
00:48:42But every time you touch me, I just wonder how she felt
00:48:49Though it's anything, right here in the hotel
00:48:55I know you've been able to hurt me, so I kept it to my side
00:49:15That's a good one.
00:49:18So this song is a reason for everybody coming tonight,
00:49:23so thanks for coming.
00:49:27Yeah, it's called High Trees,
00:49:29and it's kind of about 1940's legal decision
00:49:35because people write songs like that
00:49:38and a cottage that was called High Trees
00:49:41or that is called High Trees that I spent some time at
00:49:46and the movie for it is coming out next week
00:49:50It was made by Shane Gray who I think is here
00:49:57Shane is incredible
00:50:00and I'm really excited for that
00:50:04and yeah, I guess it's like about being caught in a bit of an obsessive cycle
00:50:09but pulling it out of yourself and keeping on going
00:50:17So yeah, this is called High Trees
00:50:22High Trees
00:50:23Thank you
00:50:25Thank you
00:53:35Well, we have two more songs tonight.
00:53:39I wanted to say thank you again to Lubav for opening for us.
00:53:51And to the monarch for having us.
00:53:55Yes!
00:53:56And to Morgan on sound.
00:53:58Thank you so much, Morgan.
00:54:02And of course, all of you, because if you put on a concert, it's like so sad that no one
00:54:09comes.
00:54:09So I'm really, really grateful for your presence and for sharing this special night with me.
00:54:21Thank you so much.
00:54:26And yeah, this is called Taken.
00:54:29We haven't done it in a long time.
00:54:32So let us do anything.
00:54:33All right.
00:54:35All right.
00:54:38What's up?
00:55:08Tell me with some secrets
00:55:13Just around our world
00:55:17Cause I'm so
00:55:20I'm taking my own life
00:55:23You're looking at your life
00:55:27And I need you
00:55:29So I'm making you say
00:55:33Just around our world
00:55:43To change your life
00:55:49You're looking at your life
00:55:51You're looking at your life
00:55:52And I need you
00:55:52I'm making you say
00:55:54You're looking at your life
00:55:57So I'm making you say
00:55:59I'm making you say
00:56:00Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
00:56:30Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
00:57:00Oh, oh, oh, oh.
00:58:30I thought was like the greatest man in the world, but he was like, oh, I think you're perceiving
00:58:39things at a higher level than everyone else.
00:58:42And I think kind of braised him out, but I was like, oh, no, like you're crazy.
00:58:47And then I had this dream and he was braiding daisies in my hair.
00:58:52And I was so excited.
00:58:53Like I thought about we were going to get back together and everything's going to be amazing.
00:59:00And then I, we were sort of like on and off for a long time.
00:59:03And then I, I talked to him and he's like, oh, I'm going back together with my ex.
00:59:09And then sometime later they had a baby and they named her Daisy.
00:59:14And I was like, oh my God, you were right.
00:59:20Anyway, we're, we're friends, I guess.
00:59:24What?
00:59:25This is a song about wanting to go back to the beginning when things were amazing and things
00:59:32were innocent and all you have, or all you have is innocence.
00:59:36This is called my sweet, sweetheart.
01:00:03Oh, something that loves me
01:00:10And when I was praying, you just kept
01:00:17The day we spent our bed picking taisies
01:00:24For us to bring them in my hand
01:00:33Now I know that I was dreaming
01:00:38I was feeling when you were there
01:00:48Now I know that I was dreaming
01:00:55My sweet, sweet heart, my sweet, sweet heart
01:00:59My sweet, sweet heart again
01:01:02Oh, I was feeling you, my sweet heart
01:01:11And I'm not watching you by fire
01:01:16I was feeling you, my sweet heart
01:01:27And I know that I was dreaming
01:01:38I was feeling you, my sweet, sweet heart
01:01:44And I know that I was dreaming
01:01:53My sweet, sweet heart, my sweet, sweet heart
01:02:12And I know that I was feeling you, my sweet heart
01:02:21And I know that I was feeling you, my sweet heart
01:02:40I was feeling you, my sweet heart
01:02:48And I know that I was feeling you, my sweet heart
01:02:59And I know that I was feeling you, my sweet heart
01:03:06And I know that I was feeling you, my sweet heart
01:03:20And I know that I was feeling you, my sweet heart
01:03:21And I know that I was feeling you, my sweet heart
01:03:25And I know that I was feeling you, my sweet heart
01:03:29I can have
01:03:29wanted
01:03:30Oh
01:03:31I love you, I love you, I love you
01:04:01I love you, I love you
01:04:35I love you, I love you
01:05:01This is a song about empowering yourself and trail running
01:05:09Thank you so much again for coming
